As a resident of the Island of Oahu for all of my life, there are lots and lots of things to do here.
It depends on what you like to do. I would advise you to spend some time doing the typical tourist thing in Waikiki but also spend some time doing other things like Hanauma Bay, visiting the north shore for waves, seeing the view from Diamond Head and the Nuuanu Pali lookout (bring your jacket for that one), and so on and so forth.
Check out the website http://www.hawaii.gov/portal/visiting/index.html for more information on what's available.
Welcome (in advance) to my beautiful home! Have a great time!

I've visited Oahu a few times
(1) you've got to try surfing - no, you will not look anywhere as cool as you might think you do, but it's a way cool experience - there are plenty of surf boards and lessons on Waikiki beach, and the waves are baby waves, perfect for beginners (1b) - check out the real surfers on the north shore - it's awesome to watch them!
(2) swim with the dolphins at sea life park - again, a way cool experience that you won't forget
(3) snorkel at Hanauma Bay
(4) you could try a luau - I liked the one at Paradise Cove - it was "fun"
(5) whale watching - while the cruise itself isn't so grand - seeing the whales is pretty cool - there's only a couple of places you can see these whales in their natural habitat - so, if you have time, it would be something memorable
(6) the first 5 I've done and can recommend - activities that I want to try - (1) skydive and land in the ocean and (2) helicopter tour

My husband and I were married there in October of 2005. It was the most beautiful place I have ever been to!!
Take an Enoa island tour - they're pretty cheap and travel around the entire island, stopping at local attractions and tourist lookouts.
I liked seeing the Byodo-In Temple.
You can hike the Diamond Head - takes a few hours, wear good shoes and bring your camera!
Watch a movie on Waikiki beach (I think that's on sundays, not sure which day for sure)
Eat at the Top of Waikiki restaurant if you can afford it - a little pricey, but worth the view! It's a rotating restaurant that overlooks Waikiki.
My husband and I went to a luau at Paradise Cove. Good food and some free drinks!
Also - check out the Pali lookout (Enoa tours stop here).
I was married at the Kualoa Beach park - an awesome huge park to have a picnic, very scenic w/ both beach & mtns!

Visit Pearl Harbor take the boat out to see the ships still in the bay.

Paradise Cove has the best Luau experience!

Yes, I have been there and there is lots to do.
Honolulu is a big city with all the city attractions.
Outside of Honolulu you can visit the North Shore/Turtle Bay area, Dole Plantation and Makaha area. As at Pearl City outside Honolulu is the Arizona Memorial.

I been there before. Its SO fun! But I have to warn you, you should bring snorkels and goggles because the beach water is salty. XP Well, at night my hotel (Sheraton Hotel next to the Waikiki Beach) there was a Hawaiian dance and I loved it because of the Paradise drink (I forgot it) Well, see your agent or go to one of the Hawaiian websites to find more information. Bye! and have a good trip!
