I'm looking for charities that are responsible and trustworthy. I already sponsor a child with ActionAid (who are very good) and I'd like to get involved with another charity with equally good ethics. Any suggestions?

Thank you for all the suggestions, I’ll take a closer look at all of them. Makes me wish I could sponsor them all, it really does.

My Mum and Dad retired to India, last year.
They are now volunteers for a charity called El Shaddai Street Child Rescue.
This is a worth while cause, as it is giving children back their childhoods, giving them an education, feeding them and also giving them love care and shelter.

An outstanding secular charity is Plan, which has been helping children around the world since the 1930s. You can read all about the organisation here....

WORLD VISION !!!!!
Me and my family have been sponsoring a young girl from Keyna for the last 5 years. by halping their lives they send you a christmas card and a monthly letter asking about how you are. it really feels good when you get a letter, it makes you feel your money is going somewhere real and really making a difference!

World Vision. They are a Christian organization, which may turn some people away, but they are amazing. I sponsor a child in the Middle East through them, and they have him sending me letters and they send me things to make it easier to send to him. They are truly an amazing organization

The ones that I would personally recommend are "smile of a child" and/or "samiratans" which can be best learned about through the www.tbn.com /or- org. Both faith based nonprofit! Last one mentioned is through "Billy Grahams son Franklin Graham... "
