If "high up" means "higher education" or "high tech", then yes. I know PhDs with ink, as well as chief architects and senior engineers.

Something where how you look is more important than what you know, I can't say. I've never worked in such fields.

Most employers do not care if you have tattoos, as long as they can be completely concealed.

However, based upon the openess of the employer, and the acceptance of diversity in the work place, the viewpoint on your tattoos may differ.

I have tattoos, and I work for a large reputable nationwide company. They embrace diveristy, and have no issues with tattoos that are visable. A senior supervisor has facial piercings.

Probably not-- advisers at "high up" work places will tell you to cover them up, either with clothes or concealer. It is the same with piercings other than the standard middle lobe. What you could do during an interview is have them covered up, so that the boss never even knows they are there, this would greatly improve your chances of getting the job, as tats tend to look bad to any corporate job. Tats are great, just not meant for "ties and slacks" kind of jobs.

Yes, but it can depend on the office's dress code, what the tattoos are and where they are on your body. If they can be easily concealed, then there should be no problem. If your forearms are covered, or your face or something like that, then it might be a little more difficult.

I don't know how many tats you have, but I would think "yes".
Just dress professionally and present yourself well. They should be more impressed by YOU, than worried about your tats.
