My wife and I are wanting to take a vacation to Ireland and Scotland.. We don't want to pay for a guide. Where can we find trip tips? Looking for haunted castles and other popular sights..

Frommer's and Lonely Planet are both good travel guides. I went to Scotland a few years ago. Loved Edinburgh, Inverness (Loch Ness), and Isle of Skye. Liked Oban. Hated Glasgow (too big city). Have fun!

I'm actually in Galway as we...well, type! It's great over here!
A good site to find all sorts of info is www.tripadvisor.com

You can find lots of good information and reviews from real people. They even upload their own pictures of hotels and such so you can see how things REALLY look. I never trust the so called pics on the hotel sites and stuff...they always show the best and then you walk into the worst!
