I think Peter Luger has the best steaks, but it's in Brooklyn in a dark neighborhood that is out of the way. Sparks is good, Mark Joseph is very good. I would forget the 21 Club - the food has certainly seen better days. You might consider Craftsteak, BLT Steak or Keen's. They're all good.

Happy birthday

Food like Music is sometmes a matter of taste (no pun intended). Some folks may love a restaurant others hate it.

Peter Luger's is in Brooklyn is the highest rated, but the
family style seating may not be what you are looking for.

Smith And Wollensky in midtown is very good and better atmosphere.

Bull and Bear same comment as Smith and Woll's

Want to try a really different "eating in NYC" experience (also a lower price.) Try a Kosher steak house. Yep, they have nice steaks and can be very good.

I am not Jewish, but really enjoyed eating a steak at Levana on west 69th street.
