how do we know that the bible isnt a test from god to see if we would blindly follow anyone who said they were a servant of god.

how do you know that the way into heaven isn't using all of the gifts that god gave us including the most wonderful gift of all, the one that makes us human, the ability to use logic.

why would god give us logic if he did not want us to use it.

how do you know that by believing in a book written thousands of years ago, with out having any proof, will get you sent to hell.

maybe god cares less about what we do, and more about how we do it.

I don't capitalize god either.

No one knows for sure about anything...they just have this thing called "faith" and they go by the bible, which I think its retarded because the bible is kinda like that game, Whisper Down the Lane. You know, like you say something, and then another person hears it and it just get jumbles up together and people start making things up.

I don't believe any of it...and I don't care how many thumbs down I get.

I bet god is a real chill guy, and wants us to roll with the changes, and not go by every freakin word in the bible. He probably thinks everyone is so damn gullible and stupid.

I think it is good that you are thinking about this and not just believing something just because!!

See the thing is the Bible says God is a God of love. He wouldn't test you just to sit back and laugh at you!!

Yes you are right in saying that logic is a gift from God and to me what the Bible says is logical! I look at the idea of evolution and don't think they are using logic.

And ultimately what you believe or don't believe is based on faith. I wouldn't say that there isn't any proof of what the Bible says because for me I look around and see proof.

I don't believe all that I have heard over my life,in fact the only thing I feel sure about is the fact I believe God exist and I believe when I die all the questions I thought I didn't know the answers to will be clear.I don't know of anything more powerful than "do unto others" and the commandments so everything else is whatever you take it to be.

Even if I told you how I know, you probably wouldn't believe me since I haven't written a hypothesis, a procedure, tested it in varying conditions and come to a conclusion based on an assumption that all things will repeat under the same conditions (which I don't necessarily buy in to). So are you really serious?

I believe that I am a servant of God. However, I don't believe that I need to have a religious "tag" on me saying that I am a Christian, or I am a Muslim, or whatever else. I am simply a spiritual person who believes in the one True God, and that wherever He wills that I should go, I will follow.

Yikes!!!! That's a mouthful.....But interesting....Firstly, you have to believe that there is really a God (with a capital) and that he is a supreme Spirit...If you don't...no sence going on further...

If you do, then....Yes, the Bible is full of test's. Designed to draw you closer to him...But be careful, it also states to be aware of false gods and prophets...and they appear in all shapes and forms...

Logic is a gift given to all mankind...Yes it's a wonderful gift, but...don't confuse natural gifts with the Spiritual ones...They are given after you have a relationship with Christ...

This logic, is also referred to as "free will"...the ability to chose for your self...That is why we have it...God wants us to come to him under our own valition...He already has hoards of Angelic beings tht have no real "free will"...So yes, He wants you to use it in everything you do and say, especially towards him...

As to the proof of the authenticity of the Bible...It states in his book that every word written is inspired by God through his Profets and scribes...Time means nothing to God...only to us...You only go to Hell if you reject him and his love...

Wrong on your last point...He cares very much what we do, and as well, how we do it...We're back to the "free will" thing again.....

All the best in your search...Oh...and by the way...The very fact that you are questioning this is a gift from God as well..."For it is given to every man a measure of faith to believe"

Well that's my 71 cents worth...

All the very best bud....Yuke

Because the Lord has revealed the truth to me, through His wonderful Holy Spirit, and it is the power of HIM that changes us and reveals the truth to us....and once we believe in Him and know that HE IS LORD, He is our rock and we cannot be shaken!

1 Corinthians 1:18
[ Christ the Wisdom and Power of God ] For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

And this verse is about those who are saved in Christ 2Corinthians 3:18
And we, who with unveiled faces all reflect the Lord's glory, are being transformed into his likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.

God is truly awesome! And we know that Jesus is the only way truth and life, the gospel makes sense! It really makes sense, and it is simple to understand, do not try to make it more complex....for it is simple even a child understands it.
John 14:6 --Praise the Lord!

There is too many what ifs it that. But I do agree that God wants us to use our own logic - He allows us to choose Him, he doesn't force us to accept him. and I also agree when you say less about what we do and more about how we do it-I can help someone but hate it the whole time I'm helping, and God I think would rather me do it joyfully / humbly or not at all.
You can question anything, with Bible you just have to have Faith that it's what God wants for us.

Why would an Omnipotent God go to those extreme elaborate motions to deceive man? Is it logical? When all he hast to do is snap his fingers and make us believe anything. You either believe in God or you don't without making up nonsense.

He did give us logic, the logic to be able to decide that life is not all about believing in what we can see but rather, what we believe in. I cannot see God, yet i feel God. He has worked some miracles in my life....
