Firstly, are you male or female? Also muscle weighs more than fat. Obesity is not determined by weight alone. Are you sporty? I knew a judo expert who weighed almost 14 stone, the same height as you. This would be considered too heavy for most people. It also depends on your build.

Hi there,
i think obese is a little far..you are just over the average weight you should be. I am an inch shorter than you and weighed in at just over 16st when i was a teenager...so I know what it's like. I managed to loose the weight throught diet and exercise...you will feel much better for it. Don't think of it as a big life change where you won't be able to enjoy what you usually eat, take it in small steps, cutting out small thing sthat you eat that are high calorie, you will start to loose weight and add in a lil exercise...it will be fine! Don't fret..if i can can do it you can!
It's a pity you don't say your age or sex cus you may have got a little more helpful information from asking this question but best of luck to you!

i am 5ft 8" and 14 and half stone and according to this graph i read i am obese. I was shocked coz i dont look that fat. Yes i am overweight but i would never class myself as being OBESE.I would like to loose weight but i guess i dont look that bad. You just need to learn to accept yourself. Bet you look great adn dont worry i am in the same boat as you :)

It depends whether you weight is all muscle or fat! If fat then you are probably more in the higher region of "overweight" rather than obese.

This is a chart to show ideal weight - according to that, regardless of gender, you would be overweight.
