I'm a teenager and i want a boyfriend but everybody keeps on telling me that i'm too young. I can't really tell my real age much but is 13 too young? Becaue i know 12 year olds with boyfriends. Please help me but yet not give me a lecture that i usually would. I don't mean to be rude but i hate being told that i am too young and untrusted to choose a good guy.

I think 12-13 is about the age young people should be getting out of the "cootie" stage and start experimenting with dating and casual relationships. Emphasis on the word CASUAL. Assuming you're under the age of 15, yes you are too young to have a SERIOUS relationship. There is nothing wrong with having romantic interests in boys and moving things forward from being "just friends."
On another note, I'd also advice to not bother looking for a boyfriend just for the sake of having a boyfriend. If you don't really like him, don't bother dating him. It'll break both your hearts.

The times they are a changing. At one time you had kids at 12, 13 and 14 and were old crones at 30. The pendulum swung and then you never left the home until you were 18 and then it was into an arranged marriage. Now, kids are doing it younger. It depends upon you - individually. I knew a young lady who was sexually active at about 13 or 14 but she grew up in an open and well informed home. She did not have sexual peers in her class. She was more sexually aware and confident than most 20 year olds. Also, I have known 30 year olds who are lost in space. It depends upon you. Can you handle a boyfriend?? No one will know except you.

Yes 13 is young...don't be worrying about what these 12 year olders are doing. You will have the rest of your life to have a boyfriend. Right now just be young and enjoy your 13 year old life...boyz are nothing but trouble anyway

13 really is too young in this day. You should work on knowing yourself first. Then you'll start to realize how stupid people are and just wait until you happen upon a decent guy. Otherwise you'll just see what you want then a little later you'll see that he's actually an idiot and get hurt. So on and so forth.

Why do people assume that having a boyfriend means having sex?? It doesnt! If you want to say you have a boyfriend - go for it. 5 year olds say they have a boyfriend in kindergarten, too... what's the difference? Don't do anything stupid - but if you like him, go for it. Make mistakes - it's the only way you'll learn

WELL I AM 22 YRS OLD AND I DO THINK THAT 13 YRS IS TOO YOUNG, I NO THAT YOU DONT WANT PEOPLE TELLING YOU THAT BUT ITS THE TRUTH. ESPECIALLY WHEN BIYS ARE THE WAY THEY ARE THESE DAYS. BOYS LIE TO GET WHAT THEY WANT. AND THAT USUALLY MEANS GETTING INTO YOUR PANTS BELIEVE ME I AM OLD ENOUGH TO NO. LISTEN TAKE YOUR TIME AND FIGURE OUT IF THAT IS REALLY WHAT YOU WANT. AND IF YOU DO MAKE SURE THAT YOU TAKE IT SLOW AND BE SMART DONT EVER LET ANY BOY TELL YOU WHAT TO DO. PLAY HARD TO GET BOYS USUALLY LIKE A CHALLENGE.

yeah 13 is too young, the reason is there is so much more to life than boys,, go out and travel and see the world when you are older,, boys can wait

you don't have to have a boyfriend at any age, but if there is a guy out there that you like, then go for it. Parents need to learn to let their kids make mistakes and take chances. My overall advice is to just go for it.

13 is too young. this is a time to hang out with your girls and do silly stuff, not worry about make-up, boys, sex, etc. you will have time to deal with all that later. believe me, it's not all as fun as it looks. as a teen, boys = heartache, being pressured to have sex, drama from jealous girls. it's really not as fun as you may think it is.
