There's nothing wrong with praying for money as long as you have the right intentions for it. I pray and ask God for money all the time and He gives it to me, because He knows I will not use it for a selfish cause. I use it to pay my bills, tithes, and feed homeless people. In addition, He will give me money for things I like or need. So definitely there's nothing wrong with praying for money with the right heart. In fact, most Christians or sinners that have a problem with Christians being prosperous or being millionaires are upset because they themselves are broke all the time.

It's clearly selfish if the focus is on money- getting something for nothing. It would seem to be more appropriate to pray for what you say you really want- more time to spend with your family and for guidance in bettering yourself. If your prayers are answered, then the rest will follow- perhaps a better job, a chance for a promotion, or a more flexible schedule.

Of course it's selfish to pray for money.

Seriously. Don't you think God has better things to do than give you money? Doesn't your God say that the love of money is the root of all evil? He probably hears your prayers and thinks you are evil.

Millions of people manage to be poor and still spend quality time with their families.

You pray for the Lord to provide and His will be done ... and you stop creating more bills. It's not selfish to want to spend more time with your family, but money is not always the answer.

I suppose maybe people think God ought to spend His time trying to help those with real problems, instead of giving you a free ride. Perhaps instead of wasting time on Yahoo answers complaining about the little amount of time you can spend with your family, you could shut off the computer and actually spend that time with them, or get some work done so you'll have free time when your family is available.

It's only human nature to want better things for yourself and your family. There are two ways to get the extra money. You can work for it or you can pray for it.
I'll bet on the one who studies, learns a good trade, and gets a good job. Praying ??????

Then I would suggest praying for financial security or a job that enables you to better support your family, not "more money".

Better yet, take action to make those things happen for yourself.

Jesus says that to enter the kingdom of heaven you must sell everything you have and hate your family. Would you be willing to do this? Also, if you don't believe that he said this, just read your Bible. And remember, when you ask your preacher about this and he gives you a lame excuse and you accept it, just know that you have slipped further into the pit of ignorance.
Prayer is superstition.

Why not pray for more time with your children and less stress if that's what you really want.
