For 'normal' size tires, anywhere between 28 and 35 psi.

For fancier tires on 16", 17" 18" and 20" rims, the pressure goes up. The higher the rim diameter, the higher the tire pressure -- up to 100 psi on some 20" rims.

It is different on deifferent vehicles. Look on the inside of your driver side door for that info.
