I've been thinking the same thing. Yet they label everyone that is slightly different.. Crazy. This is why I have given up on organized religion, I consider myself spiritual now and I do believe in God. Another thing is all the priest ect. saying how terrible people are and look how many have been caught molesting children. They use the church to hide, and gain peoples trust. Not all of course, but it just makes you think twice about the past, present and future.

Just because someone does not agree with what you are doing, does not make them selfish and unforgiving. God IS forgiving, you just have to accept what He offered you. He accepts everyone from all walks of life, rich or poor. He doesn't care what place you are in the world, He just wants you to come to Him and accept a gift. If He is offering you something He considers precious, who's the selfish and unaccepting person?

I think the more appropriate question is:

Why are religious people selfish and unaccepting when religion is supposed to be so open and forgiving ?

The answer is: people suck. Especially religious ones.

Who says its supposed to be "open and forgiving"? That is not a Biblical principal.

Oh, okay-my bad. you didn't say Christianity-you said religion. Religion can be what you want it to be.

I've asked myself the same question...

...about atheism.

(Note: don't expect to see any atheists accuse you of broad-brushing with this question.)
