You don't.
The Internet makes us all anonymous, and we can tell anyone anything, from who we are to what we look like.

Stay away from meeting guys online.
Just watch Court T.V., Forensics Files on Discovery Channel, Cold Case files on A&E if you do not believe me.
Its a simple equation with these things:
chick + guy met online = torso in a garbage bag next to a creek.
Do not trust anyone online. Do not pursue this guy.

You can meet and nothing wrong with that. But before that get to know him better. for at least 3 months. When you meet him, meet him in acroud place. EX. in front of a movie theater, in a resturant, or crowded street. If you like him good. If you don't. say something I am sorry but you dont look like that guy online and leave

You are wise to be concerned that he is not the nice boy that you think you've seen in pictures. How about talking to him on the phone?
Before you agree (if you ever agree) to meet him in person, try talking to him first on the phone. If you ever agree to meet him in person, meet him with your parents or with a group of your friends -- in a public place, and never alone, OK?

How old are you?
And...I would watch out. People do that. If you're planning on meeting him and if you're old enough to do so - meet him at the mall with friends or something - definitely somewhere public. Otherwise it can be a very dangerous situation.
Be careful!!!

Get a webcam! Anything and Everything can be done under the sun. Webcams can cost less then $20 and are as easy as pluging them into your computer. So have him get one and you get one and video chat away. If he refuses, then get his phone number and Driver's license number and take it to your local police station to verify if its real. It around $20ish to clear a background check (depends on your location). They won't give you any of his personal information, but they can at least verify his basic information and see if he has a criminal record for you.

The internet is very dangerous when it concerns meeting men and women. I'd be very careful. And like others have mentioned...I'd meet him in person, but be VERY careful. Maybe you could meet with a friend. Even at that I'd be very careful. I guess I just don't trust the internet.

You will never know, unless you see him face to face. One thing you can do is chat via web cam, and when you feel comfortable you can arrange to meet him, but I would do it in a very public place and take people with you!
