When I put the palms of my hands over my ears I can hear a constant noise, similar to the road noise you get when in a car or a distant rumbling. I've heard a similar noise before, called white noise. What is this noise I'm hearing, what's the cause?

I'm not concerned about it. Most people that I've asked hear the same sound when they put their hands over their ears. I was just enquizative as to what the noise is.

It's caused by the circulation of your blood. Freaky isn't it?

What is causing tinnitus?
This cochlea damage whistling in the ears medication is one of our original remedies and is beyond doubt, our most successful tinnitus treatment remedy.
This treatment has relieved the tinnitus ear ringing from sudden loud noise, head or dental surgery or even a severe knock to your head.
William wanted to ask:
I am not able to link my tintinitis to anything in particular. I have always had tinnitis in a very mild form, such that it is only noticable when the environment is very quiet.
But in the last few weeks my tintinitis has gotten worse, to the point where I can almost always "hear" a very high pitched ringing. It does not seem to interfere with my hearing. I simply hear the ringing in addition to other sounds. I am not sure what is causing the
ear ringing.
Our Reply...
Hello William,
It is actually very easy to damage one's ears, without even realising. The inner ear structures are so sensitive and delicate, that they really need to be treated with great care!
I feel pretty certain that the cause of your tinnitus is a result of cochlea damage and we can help you get relief with our tinnitus relief remedies.
Most folk don't know that there are millions of minute nerve endings deep inside the ear that get very excited by pressure of sound waves.
This agitation cause movement of all those tiny hair nerve cell, which reminds one a field of wheat shifting in time with the breeze.
When sound is noticed by your ear and the cilia undulate, impulses go streaking through the auditory nerve which your brain figures out to be a noise.
All those microscopic nerve endings and the tiny nerves get damaged easily when you are exposed sudden to loud noise. The nerve damage is automatically worsened if you have played in a orchestra over an extended period of time.
Those sensitive inner ear organs like the auditory nerve cells and hairs most often get damaged because of a bad blow to the head. The tiny hairs often get bent out of shape or even chipped and then send electrical impulses randomly to the brain which are interpreted as sound, although no sound is actually present.
Cochlear damage leading to a whistling in the ears can often result from botched ear wax removals, hopi ear candling, swimming accidents, sport injury problems, surgery to the head, ears or nasal passages and even from middle ear infections.
Hearing loss is permanent however the tinnitus remedies have been very successful in dramatically and permanently lowering the tinnitus levels from cochlea damage.
We have an excellent rate of success with the treatment of this particular type of tinnitus. When an external noise is experienced the many thousands of little hairs in the cochlea are stimulated.
When a sound gets discerned by the ears and these minute hairs start moving, signals go streaking through the auditory nerve which your brain interprets as a sound.
The agitation of the hairs in the inner ear can be likened to a field of long grass rippling in tune with the wind.
These minute hair cells and those easily damaged auditory nerves get damaged easily when subjected to sudden loud noises. The damage is made worse if you are a band member or worked in a noisy factory for a long time.
Tinnitus from noise (cochlea damage tinnitus) is also caused by scuba diving accidents, swimming incidents, removals of ear wax etc.
Damage to hearing is not reversible however the ringing in the ears remedies have been very successful at reducing the tinnitus levels from a damaged cohlea.

Its the air moving about in the area between your ear and palm. A bit like hearing the sea when you put a shell to your ear.

I believe its the sound of blood flowing; I vaguely recall being told that once. It's just like hearing the ocean in a seashell.
It's probably just your ear and brain adjusting to not receiving the constant stimulation that it normally gets.
Good question.

Sounds like it could be your blood pressure or your sinus cavities causing some pressure on your inner ear. You ought to go the doctor and get this checked out. You don't want to damage your hearing.

tinnitus! is the term for ringing ears! and it can be caused by hearing lost! you can check with an ENT and get your hearing tested, if so is normal that you might have to wear hearing aids so you don't hear that noise anymore.
