I'm not sure, I think I should be but Im not 100% sure. I was born catholic but my parents made me leave that sect of christanity when i was about 10. I was converting to judaism when someone on my campus started talking (not even about religion) and I went to the catholic bible study. Im not sure what I believe and dont want to waste people's time.

You should search for the one true religion that has being thought by Jesus. The Apostles are practicing the pure & undefiled religion in the Church of God, James 1:27 —

Pure religion and' undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

According to II Corinthians 1:1 —

Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, and Timothy [our] brother, unto the church of God which is at Corinth, with all the saints which are in all Achaia:

The real Church is the one which is headed by Christ. Among the many churches today, how can we determine if that church is headed by Christ?

Christ, being the ruler of the Church, affects the lives of the people that He heads. First of all, the Church, which is headed by Christ, does not teach any wrong doctrine. Instead, it teaches indestructible and undefiled doctrines.

Luke 21:13-15 says, “And it shall turn to you for a testimony. Settle it therefore in your hearts, not to meditate before what ye shall answer: For I will give you a mouth and wisdom, which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.”

Christ gave an assurance to the Church He heads. He said, “It shall turn to you for a testimony.” You do not have to think of what answer to give when somebody asks you a question because He will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries cannot gainsay nor resist.

Therefore, one manifestation of a Church which is headed by Christ is, it cannot be readily destroyed; its doctrines are without flaws.

First of all, you were not 'born' Catholic, you were just born into a Catholic family and conditioned into your parents' belief systems. At your age, it's not uncommon to be unsure about your spirituality. Just converting to something blindly without knowing very much about it is an extremely stupid thing to do. Study all you can about the different religions; and if one calls out to you, then explore it. Don't worry so much about what other people think! You won't be wasting anyone's time by going to Bible Study, either. Just don't let anyone try to push his or her beliefs down your throat! They've no right to do it.

I'm a Catholic, and would advise you to take your time before entering into a major decision like this. If you'd like more information about the Catholic Church, contact your local church and ask about RCIA courses. These are courses that all prospective Catholics must take before being received into the Church. There's no obligation to convert just because you're taking the classes. You'll just be learning more about the Catholic faith, that's all. If you don't want to take the courses, then try reading up on Catholicism, or any other religion you're interested in. It's okay to take your time when contemplating entering any religion.

If Catholics adhere to the Bible in their practices and traditions, you should be one. If not, you should find out what religion does follow the Bible's teachings and stick closely to that.

Remember that more than just casual Bible reading is involved. We need to imitate the first-century Jews in Beroea who heard Paul’s preaching. Of them, we read: “They received the word with the greatest eagerness of mind, carefully examining the Scriptures daily as to whether these things were so.”—Acts 17:11

"Make sure of all things; hold fast to what is fine." (1 Thessalonians 5:21)

Exploring a religion won't be wasting anybody's time. Most sincere religious people just want you to find something you are happy with. Talk to your friend and maybe she can suggest someone for you to talk to. Also, talk to someone who was helping you convert to Judaism. But in the end, you'll have to listen to your heart and do what feels right.

I used to be a protestant and was on the same journey myself. I tried studying the faith on my own - reading the bible, praying, searching the Internet, etc., but nothing really helped. It wasn't until I checked out what the Catholics believed did I finally learn my faith. The priest pointed me to the RCIA program, and from there I've been devoted to Christ's Church ever since. Best decision of my life.

I suggest you do the same. It will help you tremendously. Talk to a priest and tell him what your thoughts are. Tell him you are interested in learning more about the Church. He'll be glad to help.

God bless, and welcome home.

You believe whatever you WANT to believe. If you were converting to Judaism and still want to, then go to Judaism. If becoming Catholic is what you want to do, the do that.

Catholicism is not a 'sect'. We have more than a billion followers worldwide.

Attend as many Catholic bible studies as you can, pray, and follow what is in your heart.

P.S. I sincerely hope that it would not alienate you from your parents -- have you tried talking to them to?
