By all means yes, get rid of the junk. The only thing anyone would want on their computer if they don't use AOL as their internet service provider might be AOL's instant messenger, AIM. For spyware protection, I recommend Spybot Search and Destroy and Spyware Blaster, which work in conjunction with each other.

yes, go to add/remove programs and remove anything connected to AOL
