Satan seeks everyones destruction because thats what hes here for, to spread hate and disease and all the other bad things you can think of.

there two forces at work here.and his is evil,and is very powerful and he really really gets into hating discord.lust.vanity,anger,greed,and all that.its enjoys all this weirdness people do, since he encourages it.and having power over souls and he is just mean.there has of course to be a devil as there must be an up if there is a down .a light and also a darkness.
Its a spiritual law and a psychical law
and also we learn not much if we don't suffer

Satin despises God, (as we all know) and so he will do anything in his power to destroy us and keep us from going to Him for our needs and wants,instead of going to the word and it's low expectations. The Devil wants nothing more than to be the one to greet you at his gates of fire and not the Lord at His golden ones.
