Good for you!!!!!!! I am a smoker and I have to say...unless you were hiding it from her when you two got together you made the right decision. Honesty is the most important quality a relationship can have and if she hated it that bad she should have been honest since the beginning. Also, as far as honesty goes, you want to and need to be honest with her at all times so when she tells you to quit and you try and hide it from her it will only cause problems in the future for the two of you. Glad you stood up for yourself and held your ground and didn't let someone try to change you. I am not saying that smoking is good for you......I smoke too and I know it isn't......but if she couldn't accept it and it is part of who you are......you are both better off!!!!

You know? I'm a heavy smoker myself, but I think a good woman is worth more than a box of cigarettes.

If she is a good woman, couldn't you just stop smoking when you are with her or an hour before to avoid smelling like a chimney? She would have appreciated that.

When a woman asks you to stop smoking it is basically because she loves you and/or is looking forward to a more serious relationship with you in the future (house, dogs, kids, nice yard, you know what I mean). Believe it or not, women do think on these things when they are with a man. So, this time, I think you mistook.

If she isn't a good woman and you don't really care being with her or not, OK, you did fine.

...I'm not saying that smoking isn't bad for you partner..it IS!!! If you love your cigarettes more then her?...then you don't deserve to be with her otherwise. It's her choice to leave a smoker..and yours to continue to smoke. Hmmm...!!! Priorities here dude! I'm sure she'd luv to hang out with you while you try to quit...but you've already shown us where your unobstructed love lies silly goose.... so go smoke another cigarette ...and then go think about it one more time with another one. Geezes!!! Have a smoke my friend.....and then learn to quit this filthy habit so you can become a better person. Nobody wants to take care of someone that can't breath properly. You'll never make it through the first five minutes with her otherwise...at least not without a smoke anyways!

My man told me that if I didn't quit smoking cigs then he would leave me and he has his only little habit that I hate(he smokes other stuff) so we made a deal if i quit he had to quit that fact is you smoked when she met you, so y should you have to chage something she already knew you did.

I would hope my boyfriend would help me quite. Not by nagging or threatening, but by positive encouragement! If he was being an **** about it...I would make sure to smoke more when he was around! But that's just me! If I am dating a guy who doesn't smoke, I don't smoke around them...unless we are having wine, that's a tough one.
Offering a trip for 10months of being smoke free would certainly help

Bad idea man smoking is gross, you made the wrong mistake giving her the boots, So your telling me youd rather have your smokes over your girl, not smart. I have asthma because of cigs, i used to smoke i know. I have friends with lung cancer and dont tell me its not from cigs because it is, go get her back and at least tell her youll try to give them up.

Um.. you should quit smoking. I know it is hard, but the longer you smoke the harder it will get and when you get older you will desperately want to quit and you won't be able to. Do not quit for anyone else, but do it for yourself. Trust me.. you will want to and you won't be able to the longer you smoke, so get out while you still can.

Good for you...you do what you want..life is short...tood short to have too many bosses! I smoke and if they dont like it..too bad! I dont like people who drag their forks between their teeth and smack their lips when they eat...but I sit next to a guy everynight at dinner who does it! Sometimes you gotta deal with it!
