I have a history degree and want to be an officer. A minor in political science and psychology what ratings should I go for? I have thought about intelligence and public affairs?

The good thing about Intelligence is that you can leave the military, and then get hired back on by the military as a Civilian in Intelligence. And those Civilian Intelligence folks make pretty good $$. Its not just a job in the Navy, its also a career path :)

Intelligence, with a degree in history you should understand the history of our country, and you will be a benefit to all of us.

Public Affairs is political.

JBD ... Intel is good IF you'd like to pursue a government career after you leave or retire. If you do well, and I'm sure you will, the U.S. intelligence community will always be looking for qualified former military personnel, especially retirees, to help continue putting all that great experience you'll acquire to good use. The opportunities are good, I feel, and the pay is not too shabby, either.

I would say intelligence. It is a good job from what I hear. Just be sure to check out everything and make sure its what you want.

dont forget the recruiting program, and interpretive languages, there are all kinds of people needed, the more people skills that you have beforehand, the better, you will use and need all of them.
