I was supposed to have a meeting with a certain person today and she called in sick to say she has to go home and can't make it. She wants to set up an appointment for next week. I only know her work phone, which means I can't reach her anyway. Should I just call her secretary?

You can do that. Call her secretary on when you can have the appointment.

Yes, call the secretary and relay the message. If the secretary has access to the appointments, he/she can make a new appointment. If not she will write a message to the person. If you don't hear back by Monday Noon, call. Hope it's not a brush off........you'll know if you have trouble rescheduling.

The best equitte would be for HER to contact you to apologize and rescehedule as soon as she is able. You could contact her secretary and offer to send some of your materials to her for review while she is recovering (with some flowers of course:) I would consider how important her business would be for me to determine how much I spend on flowers but the flowers would make you memorable and give you a personal connection! I have found that it is harder to say "no" to someone I have a connection with.

Well, if she just up and cancelled, you should do whatever is best for you. What ever time that would be good for YOU, not her. Don't ever do whatever they want to do, them type of people try to make the world revolve around them!

Yes, that is what sec. is there for. Let her sec. organize this, its (whomever) her turn to juggle convenient time slots.
