My problem is that I am VERY hands on - I want to plan every detail of my wedding! The minister, the flowers, the music, the food...everything! Everything that I have found so far comes in a package! I know this is to make it easier, but I don't want it to be easy! lol I want an outdoor wedding with an indoor reception at the same place (ceremony outside, move inside for the reception) and no packages. Is this possible? Also, I live in Las Vegas - if you know of any place that can help me PLEASE tell me!!!! Thank you so much!!!

My question is: Is it possible to find a place that will let me do everything myself and NOT make me buy a package. If so, do you have any suggestions?

Call the Four Seasons Las Vegas (located in Mandalay Bay, but separate restaurants. entrance etc). They will do anything you want for a price, and from staying there many times, I think they actually prefer an a la' cart affair (that way they can charge extra for everything). The gardens are amazing!!

I had my wedding at a garden and moved indoors for a reception. Aren't there any hotels in the area with a garden or something outside where you can have a reception at too? Bigger hotels should have one, the package deal is actually easier, you don't need to mocromanage every detail. Work with what they have and manage what you can. You should try and get with an event planner, they'll know what to do and you'll still get your say in everything. Your wedding will be the biggest day of your life, you should focus on you and not so much the small stuff. Congrats and good luck!

I saw a wedding featured on the FOod network that was done at Lake Las Vegas. It was very beautiful. The did their wedding at a chapel and were chartered by yacht to Lake Las Vegas. Here are the websites.

Of course! That's what I'm doing. Everything I've seen so far has just left me thinking, "I can do better than that" from invitations to cakes to the dress. So I'm personalizing everything. And I also plan an outdoor wedding (on a beach in Maui, Hawaii) but an indoor reception in a hotel or a hall. It'd be too windy outside! Best of luck with it all.

As a newlywed myself, I can understand your wanting to have your hand in every detail but take it from someone who's been there recently! The only thing you'll be doing is stressing yourself out.

My advice.....pick where you want to get married and work with their banquet and catering department. I would suggest someplace like the Bellagio or the Caesars in Vegas as they are big hotels and will cater to your every whim. Tell them exactly what you want and believe me, they'll do everything possible to make it that way. The last thing they want is an unhappy bride. Hope you have deep pockets 'cause it's not going to be cheap!

In the beginning it's fun to have your hand in everything.....but as it gets closer and you lose 10 pounds because you're not sleeping, eating, or spending any time with your fiance because you're too involved with the wedding planning, you'll see the value of having someone else doing what you want rather than you doing everything!

Good luck and congratuations!

Well you could be getting all these package deal BECAUSE you live in Vegas. Most people elope to vegas and want the package deals. Your best bet would be to go online to the wedding websites and start looking around. See what you have offered to you and choose from there.

You're just going to have to scout around til you find exactly what you want.

I'll help on this point.

To find an officiant type into Yahoo your city, state & wedding officiant (no 's' on the end) You will have a few to choose from, usually on the 2nd page. The larger bridal sites seem to get top billing. If you do go to the bridal sites, please visit the site of someone you think you might like. Those bridal sites make vendors & officiants pay for your contact info so you may not hear back from someone you'd hoped.

We are having a DW in Vegas too, but if you want hands on....go to an actual church or have it at a country club (although they probly have a pkg as well)...not the quicky church or hotels like you see on the strip

most of the places let you add on to the pkgs with just about what ever you want! so you can be hands on by booking the vendors....go to the knot

Emerald Gardens, Rainbow Gardens or the Grand Terrace http://www.thegrandterrace.com/ - the last one does indoor & outdoor & has both packages & "alacarte" per person receptions.

The Bellagio has the choice of you getting marrried on the their terrace (overlooking the fountain!) and then go indoors for the reception. You would have to RENT the terrace thought, separetly from your reception hall indoors.

Good luck

Then you would just have to book everything separately, no? Call the church, call the reception venue, call the caterers, etc. I don't understand why that is so hard.
