No, absolutely not!
All of you people are crazy! She should be paying for her own ticket, dress, hair, makeup and for her half of the limo, if you are getting one. You should pay for your ticket, your tux and your half of the limo, that's it.
Chivalry died with the advent of femenism, and there's no rule that you have to pay just because you are male. Women like to say that they are equal, and that they want equal rights, except when it comes to dating, and then you have to buy them things and make them feel special. No, if women want to be equal to men, I'm all for it, and women can pay their fair share.
Really, I would suggest that you not even go to a prom, but if you are, you should definitely go dutch. She will respect it. Spending money on her will not make her like you more, and will not guarantee any "post prom action", in fact it will hurt your chances. If you make her pay her own way, it will show her that you have confidence and are assertive. Don't even offer, just buy your own ticket, and casually ask her later if she got hers yet. Or, if she is picking them up, since it is her school, just give her enough money for your ticke and she should get the idea. If she gets mad that you won't pay for her, then you really don't want to go out with a girl like that anyway because she's just a golddigger-in-training.
Honestly, proms are for the girls, so they can feel like a princess for a night (honestly, do you really enjoy wearing a tux that much?). There is no reason why you should be subsidizing her fantasy.

Well, like yeah. And her flowers, and her meal, and her photograph taken at the prom, and her sodas at the prom, etc. Take out a large loan.
How are you getting there? Wash and wax the vehicle.
Make sure you check with her mom about the color of her dress and if it is strapless. You're safer with a wrist corsage.
Good luck, have fun, but don't do IT.

How can you buy the ticket if you don't attend the school. In this situation she should take care of the tickets. You should cover the cost for everything else (flowers, limo, after party, etc...)
If you both attend the same school, then yes, you should cover both tickets.

Did she ask you? If she asked you then that's a tough one. But if you guys are friends I might suggest paying for things to be a nice guy, if you can afford it. If not, maybe you guys should talk about it before hand so that night when it comes to paying things are not awkward!

If you have the chance, take it. I mean, you can't exactly just pay for a girl if you want. Some will reject the offer, so if you have the chance here, know the priviledge.
