Well, that all depends upon when you met, how long you've known each other, and how long you've been dating prior to getting engaged/married.

A good rule of thumb that I've found with many different couples I've known, and because of various psychological research is 9-12 months of dating, or at the very least, close intimate friendship to get past the initial butterflies.

Psychologically speaking the first 9 months or so of a relationship your body is releasing certain chemicals which when that special someone is around, are not allowing you to be objective about the person. So in effect, what you are seeing about that person is probably not a truly accurate depiction of them. Once you get past this point and actually start to have arguments will you truly see who you are, and your partner is in your relationship.

Only you can truly decide if you are right for each other and the timing in which to go further, however I would advise you to choose the side of caution and wait awhile until the warm and fuzzies die down and you can make a calm, cool, collected decision.

I don't see why not. I tmight be a bit of a time crunch - I had 2 months to plan for my wedding and it is a bit tight - most ladies plan for a year - which I think is a bit much - but if you work quickly and have a simple small weddinng, it will work.
You might want to take into consideration the amount of time people will have to request time off and plan to come to your wedding, esp if they are coming from far away. You might want to let them know asap so they can plan ahead.
Are you talking about april 07 or 08? Because if it is april 07, then it is PLENTY of time.

I got engaged on December 25 2006 and our wedding was on February 24 2007. I had two months to plan a wedding and even though I was stressed about it the whole two months, it turned out perfect. A year and 2 months is plenty of time to plan for the wedding of your dreams!

You're getting engaged April of this year? I don't think June 2008 is too soon at all.

Congratulations!

It depends on how old you are.

To get engaged (check your spelling dummy) in April 2007 and then married in June 2008 is a reasonable time to wait.

In fact you may not even have enough time to plan a wedding in that short period.

Not at all! You will have over a year to plan it. That's plenty of time. Just make sure that you start now. It makes things alot easier when you get things done ahead of time. Good Luck!

You're Engaged. A year engagement is not too short a period of time. Doesn't sound too soon.
