I have two large dogs and will soon have a small dog, can i give them the same dog food or should i buy "small dog" dog food

You also need to consider that he may have a hard time eating it. I had a small dog and I needed to make sure the nuggets were small, she had a hard time eating the larger nuggets that were in most of the regular dog food. So I always made sure that the pieces were small enough for her to eat. Maybe you can get a dog food with smaller nuggets and they can all eat the same thing.

You should buy small dog food because of many reasons. One reason is that the large dog food might not have enough nutrients for the small dog or might have to much. Another reason is because the large dog food will be to big for the small dog and it might choke on it.

Depends on what you feed them if it is small chunks they can eat it. If the small dog is like mine I have a dachshund and she eats the same food the others eat, guess it smells better. I found a dog food with small chunks she does not want it. I always found her in there bowl so I just got the same for all of them in the long run she eats there food. The chunks are reasonably small.

You can feed them the same thing (45 lbs is not a large dog). If your dogs are on a high quality food like buffalo blue, innova, evo, etc. They make adult formulas that work for all dog sizes. Large breed dogs can get an additional gloucosamine supplement.

Depends what you feed, Some larger breed foods are larger kibble, and that might not do well in a little dog mouth. Small dog food generally is quite alot smaller in size.

You shouldnt feed you small dog a large breed food, but if you feed your large dogs general like "lamb and rice" dog food, they can both eat that =)

It really depends what you feed them. If you feed your dogs one of the top recommended foods: Canidae, Wellness, Innova, etc... you can fed them all the same food.
FYI .. Canidae Life Stages is small enough kibble for a small dog.

you can feed them the same food, unless you have huge food.
but most likely you can.
