banged, clanged, fanged, ganged, dinged, kinged, pinged, winged, zinged, gonged, ponged...to name a few.
and as far as the hanged/hung controversy, they are both correct. Hung is used for inanimate objects.

The correct usage is that 'hanged' is used of people and 'hung' of objects.

"hang" doesn't change to "hanged," it changes to "hung." Not all people are educated though, so they might not use it in their speech.
Actually, "sing" does change to "sang."
