OK, you don't say how old you are, but I am wondering why you need to tell your mom about every person you date? Especially if you just started seeing him, you can wait and see if it is even going to work out with the guy. Being preoccupied with your mother's approval can put a stress or a damper on things with the guy. You may feel tense or uncomfortable when the two of you are together. If you are lying to your mom about where you are spending your time, then that is a different story. If she asks, I would use the opportunity to let her know you are seeing someone. Do what feels comfortable. If you feel compelled to tell her, then tell her. If you're not ready, then don't tell her AND DON'T SWEAT IT!! Besides, you say that you just met the guy, SO CHILL and enjoy the ride...

Is she judgmental about them? Have you been mistreated by men in the past? I just wonder why you have such a hard time. Sometimes moms are very protective of their daughters. Nobody is good enough. Just sit down with her and start by telling her that you are happy and you want her to be happy for you, too. Then tell her about all of the good qualities that drew you to him.

Tell her all of his good points. Find out what qualities she what like to see your boyfriends have, and then emphasize the good qualities that your boyfriend has to her. Tell her about all of the sweet things he does for you. Overall, be happy all of the time, and if she sees that you are happy, chances are that she will be happy for you. Have them meet, and make sure your mother keeps an open mind. Tell her you're old enough to make your own decisions, but only mention this if she does not like him and doesn't want you to see him.

If you are being responsible, grades are good, and you are being a respectable daughter then I see no reason why your mom would not understand, but if your the opposite work on yourself and tell her in time.

Start by telling her about him as a friend and see how she reacts and then go from there. Tell her about all the good things about him, all the things you like about him and she'll get the picture from then. Be honest, she'll appreciate it.

well it really depends on how old you are and what kind of relationship you have with your mom. if she is the kind that you can talk to then you should just explain to her, that you are responsible and trustworthy enough to have a boyfriend and that you aren't thinking about anything that will mess up yall's life.

Think back over the last few times you told her about your friends. What did she react to? What questions did she ask?
This way you'll be better prepared to discuss things with her. And don't get all emotional and raise your voice.

Just let her know that you've met someone you really like. When you learn something new and interesting about him, share it with her. Hopefully she'll want to know more about him.
