I would of thought your country would be leading the way in rational scientific thinking and open broad-minded people like England has?

England sent them over, you've heard of puritans and pilgrims? They became fruitful and multiplied and well, there you are. Plus they elected one as President so it's safe to come out of the wordwork now.

Because rational scientific thinking and open broad-mindedness are not the opposite of having religious beliefs. Many devout Christians are among America's top thinkers and scientists. In fact, the most historic advances in science in the last few hundred years have been made by devout Christians: Galileo, Newton, Babbage, Bacon, Copernicus, Pascal, Linnaeus, Kelvin, etc.

Because, unlike your "Beloved" England we have more than one great mind. Millions and millions of minds are curious as to how we are created with unlimited variations. Gotta love that independence. Oh yeah, that is why the United States was founded.
P.S. Better believe that we are leading the way of rational scientific thinking. I mean, why do think we have such a variety? DEE DEEDEE!!!

I agree, it is unfortunate. The fundies are everywhere but predominately in the south. I believe that is because there are more people in the south with less education. Send a fundie to a real college and no more fundie.
