my dear, that it a complicated question to answer.
1. it depends on what kind of money you have. if you are a filthy-naire, i would recommend malibu colony or a mansion in the hollywood hills.
2. if you are a little less solvent, and have kids, then you will have to downsize your home in order to pay for the private schools you will want them in when you find out how bad the LAUSD sucks.
3. if you are a DINK or a single, i would recommend living as close as reasonably possible to your job in order to minimize the killer commute.

I temporarily moved to LA (Glendale) in the Fall of 2005 and it was a great place to live. I have to say that Glendale/Burbank (which is about 9 miles north of Downtown LA) is a great place to live. I lived off Hwy 2 (or The 2) south of Burbank!!

Traffic is a nightmare. Try thr San Frenando Valley.

Well living here is expensive where ever you live. I live in the valley which is 30 mins from everything. It's good becuase it's so spread out. The valley is part of L.A County it's on the north side. Welcome
