A lady to me is someone who has respect for herself as well as others. She knows how to treat her man, family as well as herself. She also does not let every man she meets sleep with her. A loose woman cannot be a lady no matter how well she dresses, it's about her personality style.

I was always taught that a lady is someone who knows how to conduct herself. She is classy, personable, dresses tastefully, and has good morals. A lady is someone who is not overly loud or boorish. Good grooming is considered ladylike, which would include manicured nails and neat hair. HOW I WISH I HAD TIME FOR MANICURES!! A lady is someone who does not swear or curse (excessively!) or in the wrong situation (Company Christmas Party, or Bosses Birthday Party!) A lady knows how to dress for different occasions and doesn't wear too much makeup. This is what I PERSONALLY was raised to believe a lady is. I fall short in a few areas, but I use these ideas as a GUIDE, or GOAL. I often feel like a prude around my peers (I am 29) but I have to be true to myself and my (inherited) ideals.

A lady is confident, respects herself mind and body, maintains a positive attitude in most situations, independent but not stuck up, can pretty much take care of herself, believes in herself no matter what, not afraid to be herself meaning speak her mind, does what pleases her even if someone else disagrees with it. Helpful and understanding to the needs of others but not forgetting about herself. This is what a lady is to me.

A lady is a woman who know how to act proper in every situation. She know not to flirt with other men, She respects her self in-front of others. To speak her mind, but not get out of hand. She dresses proper for any occasion. Never disrepecets her Man, friends or family. She doesn't drink from a 40 bottle, aways from a cup. She eats with all her utensil's and doesn't burp in-front of people. She know how to get men attention without showing everything God gave her.

All that counts to qualify for being labelled a lady would be her personality, her sense of presentation of herself, which would include her sense of style, speaking, dressing, body language etc. Nowadays, a lady is also automatically referred to a rich woman or a wife of a rich man.

A lady is gentle and not loud, she carries herself well, and she is sharing and caring. She is thoughtful and is flexible. She knows how to dress with class, eat without looking like a pig and she doesn't have an annoying laugh. She may snore and take all of the covers while your sleeping though. SMILE

In the 50s a woman was 'equal', womens rights, same as a man! But a lady, back then and even now, is not saying that you are not equal, but it refers to having MANNERS. Crossing your legs at the ankle, using a napkin at the table, being gracious to your guests, all that stuff.
