They are offended at Jesus. He told us that you will be hated for His sake, why are you surprised? Were you not told about it? Then rejoice that even though they do not believe, they are fulfilling what He said would happen. People don't like to hear about biblical teaching because admitting it's right means to follow someone elses rules. They want to be in charge. It's pride. Pick any of these, and you have a motive for it.

I am sure that this is literally untrue. Figuratively, it may appear this way, especially in this type of unmoderated forum where all sorts of persons are free to hide behind anonymity and act out.
I have taken a position that if a question is explicitly targeting "atheists", "non-believers" or something similar, that I will ignore the question since I obviously do not fit these labels.
Likewise, if a question is labeled "believers", "theists", etc., it would be polite if those not fitting the label would not respond. After all, the questioner is the driving force in these forums and should be able to designate to whom they are seeking an answer from.
We learned this behavior in kindergarten. Remember that we were taught to not speak unless spoken to. Why is it that when we are older we feel we can reject all semblances of politeness with shallow and strained arguments for free speech. Free speech is not the issue. The issue is who rules these forums? The answer is clear--it is the question poser. Respect the questioner and this place will be something worth spending time in.

On Answers, I have for the most part seen the majority of answers and questions trying to convince Atheists and others that the JCM (Jewish, Christian, Muslim, God was the only God per a single Book called only a Book. We all rather grin because Y'all praise a god with no name and a book with only the signifier Biblos or Book.
Christians would possibly make more inroads into proselytizing others if they were not cutting up each other and all trying to proclaim their Sect is the "True Church" and other Christian (Anoinrted?) churches false.

God offends. Quite simply. So people are offended at the thought of a God who is sovereign. I would say that everyone KNOWS there is a God... Those who don't believe choose not to believe. To counter thatlack of faith causes offense.

John 3:19,And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.
I think that verse says it all.People don't wan't to believe in God because if God did exist then that means there are absolute morals which in turn means that we can't do whatever we want. But there are absolute morals and we(yes even us Christians) must follow them.

My experience is the opposite. Just yesterday someone knocked on my door with some religious propaganda.
Can't say that I've ever had an atheist knock on my door.
They have a better argument. I would suggest that you present some tangible evidence that god does exist. ANYTHING!

Because they are looking for someone to prove them wrong. Deep inside of an Atheist head is the hope to find someone that prove them otherwise. Unfortunately there will be no physical prove for them. just tell them that God is based upon the amount of faith inside you....and if they come pretty upset about the no God issue, tell them that if what they say its true, you hope that, when they die, they find their way into feeling the maggots eating their flesh on the areas of their body that, somehow are still alive inside them. Creepy, but they started it by messing with your beliefs. Good luck!

Can you name any of those atheists? I don't believe you. I know lots of atheists and they don't give a rat's @ss about whether or not any gods exist.
If you believe in Yahweh, and disbelieve in the Lord Krishna, Allah, Arjuna, Mazda, Zeus, Athena, Poseidon, L. Ron Hubbard, etc., then you too are an atheist - you disbelieve in all the gods except one.

Thomas Jefferson once said, “Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions. Ideas must be a distinct idea of the trinity. It is the abracadabra of the mountebanks calling themselves the priests of Jesus”

Why do Christians continually try to convince me that Odin doesn't exist...?
...when they themselves are always offended when I want to let them know that Odin does exist?
