your best bet is to do a test strand of your hair before applying to all the areas your wanting. try i small strand towards the neck and time it for the desired blonde your wanting.
but yes high lights look good on dark hair.

I'm always advocating people not to use any sort of hair dye, as it often comes out wrong, doesn't look as good as you want it, and dries out your hair. Instead of getting unnatural looking blonde highlights, opt for caramel or auburn highlights. You could dilute some chamomile tea with water, put it into a spray bottle, and spray on certain parts of your hair. Then, just go out into the sun and you will get nice, lighter bits of hair with a dark golden color. Don't use lemons though, it makes hair orange unless you are already blond.

I wouldn't recommend for anyone with dark brown hair to get frost and tip done to their hair. Simply because it won't come out the way you want it, if your adding blonde to dark brown it will most likely come out orange. Also it looks very unnatural and tacky. I would recommend going for a more subtle look like adding a few lighter brown highlights, to spice it up you can also add auborn color.

My daughter did this for her wedding hair-do..but she did use a professional..she looked absolutely stunning..but..and this is a warning..this is a very costly upkeep no matter how it is done. She has dark blonde hair and had blonde streaks throughout..her wedding was outdoors in the sunshine and her hair was like a halo! But, she had to have help removing the streaks since her hair was shoulder length and she did not want to cut it shorter. You should be committed to this look for quite a while and expect to redo it once a month.

yes i have dark hair as well and highlight it using frost and tip... be sure to leave it on until it's processed enough (its the color you want) to activate the bleach and make it process more efficently try using a blow dryer. once the bleach is on put the beatiful trash bag they give you to cover it up...make sure it tight! then use a blow dryer on a low setting but dont get any closer than about 3 inches... the heat activates the bleach and it will process better...once your done using the blow dryer put a towel on your head to keep the heat in...keep checking it and makes sure it stays warm...also NEVER leave bleach on more than 1 hour..otherwise you will have mush for hair :( one other tip is to make sure you have enough bleach i always get two packages if you dont use both then you have one for next time! (my mom was a hairdresser and has taught me all the tricks!)
