Yes I feel sorry that they have such a hard job to do while the weak and spineless who were all so patriotic and proud for a short period after 9/11 suddenly find themselves against the war because its become a struggle. The men and women in the military are good people and they will get the job done so long as the growing mass of the weak of mind and body don't interfere the ones who think that a nice hug and kiss will keep the bad people and terrorist at bay. They forget the cost in blood that allows them to breathe freely and pursue a good life. I venture to say most have done nothing for anyone besides themselves.

what you mean by only one group fighting this war? all 5 services are deployed to or in support of the war effort. each service provides something for the overall fight. supplies don't just appear for us troops to use. feel sorry for us? you should be thankful someone is willing to risk it all to allow you to ask silly questions! its unfortunate that we get hurt or recieve crappy treatment but we all go into it knowing this can and may happen. its called patriotism. would you lay down your life for the well being of your country? i would in a heartbeat and never second guess the decision. there are men and women in graves the world over who we also owe that respect too.

Yes I feel very sorry. I wish some of the men could come home to be with their families. Some people that are being taken over are in their 3rd and 4th tours of Iraq or etc.
My husband is in the Army and I hope he doesn't have to go.

I agree with one of the other posters that fair might not be the best word. I think that the civilian leadership, and by extension the public, has an obligation to use the military wisely and only as a last resort. The military commits to go where they are called to go without question and to carry out the mission to the best of their ability. They have lived up to their end of the bargain. We civilians on the other hand haven't lived up to ours.

Fair is not a concept that they have in the military. I don't say that to be demeaning, I loved the Marine Corps. Served 4 years. But the priorties of the US Forces are not fairness, personal freedom. They are mission first, then what is good for the military.
All that huggy-touchy-feely crap does not belong in the military.
I think the military is the best place for a boy to become a man.

No one should be happy that our military men and women are in harm's way, but they knew what they were getting themselves into when they enlisted. As far as being fair, the war in Iraq was handled poorly from the start, and as such we are currently in the middle of a huge self created mess, but it is a mess that will get worse if our presence is not felt in the region. I wish all our military personnel the best, and would like to thank them for their service.

Care to elaborate? And, I'm fairly certain you are ignoring the sailors and airmen deployed. The media does that alot. But, why should they care about the Navy? They're always deployed, right? They don't matter. Either way, the airmen (and the sailors) need to be recognized, just as much as the Army and Marines.
And, no. I don't feel SORRY for my men and women in the field. That's repugnant! I am proud of my servicemembers! I salute them, and am happy beyond belief with every safe return from patrol or duty.

Sorry? He11 no!
I am proud of them, and they would be insulted at your pity.
Why don't you actually talk to a dozen people who have been over there? They are proud of what they are doing to protect us here at home so we can live our cushy lives and spend our days typing our opinions on the internet.
Why is it that all the liberals think that they can speak for our military? Do you know that the vast majority of military votes go for REPUBLICANS? The military is not liberal. Please stop using them as an excuse to promote your Communist and Marxist ideas.
