i think there is a difference between "teen love" and "real love"

No one can be sure that the person they love is their one and only forever because that takes two people to decide to be together forever (regardless of how she feels for this person).
But your question of being in love. Yes I do believe that teens can be in love. Love knows no age although some adults will tell their teens they are to young to know what love is. I don't believe that. There are way older people who think they are in love one minute and then hate the person the next...so how do they think they know anymore about love than a teen.

Can a teen fall in love? Sure! BUT... But as we get older the way we look at things (including relationships) tends to change. The things that make us feel love at say 16, are not likely to be the same as what will bring that about at 26. The important thing to remember is that 16, 26 or whatever, emotions are REAL.

All of that having been said sometimes highschool sweethearts do go the distance. One of my closest friends met her eventual husband when she was 14. She married him 10 years later.

Yes, I think so. I still have a place in my heart for my first love in high school. He was sweet and if things worked out right, we could have still been together.

But like others here have said, it depends on their maturity, and if they have a sense of commitment to stick it out. If they do, you will see it in how that person handles things, do they have a sense of commitment to others and things that come up in their life.

Also, of great importance is how you treat each other all the time and how you are willing to work things out, cause their will be disagreements about some things, since you are two different people.
The key is, be flexible, let your love guide you both, be understanding and it could last forever but just depends the work you put in it and the rewards you will see now and in the future.

I think it depends on the people. I hear a lot about highschool sweethearts getting married and living together forever. I don't know if that's old-fashioned though. My brother and his girlfriend have been together for a really long time, at least five or six years now, and they met in high school. They survived a four year long-distance relationship, when my brother was in college. I'm thinking they are together forever, he gave her a promise ring a while back. So it can happen. I can't say about your friend, but you just never know. Only time will tell.

Here is the problem with young people and hopeless romantics...

Love is not meant to be a noun... it's a verb.... and action.

There is no such thing as "true love".

Yes it could last forever, I know people who got married at 16 and are still together.... but even some people in their 50's might never have a "forever" kind of love.

Depends on the person.

You can fall in love whenever. I fell in love with my first love at 16. We're not together today (I'm 26) but we are still close friends.
It is very possible to be in love in your teens.

love takes on many forms and it is not always forever so yes your friend could be in love

I ahve known several people that met in their early teens and have been married for years and still in love SO it is possible that way too.

Don't discount her feelings due to your own ( or in this case lack of ) Just be there for her no matter the outcome

I fell in love with my guy when I was fifteen and we're still kicking, I'm 25 now, so yeah it's seems is going to forever road but we never know. love is very unpredictable when you don't know what's ahead and troubles to come. Just give her time and let her experience the bad and the good. Just be there when she needs you.

Who is to say what Love is? Who gets to determine it? I am married to my Middle School love!!! We have our differences, but that doesnt mean that my feelings are not love!!! If you are happy at that exacat moment in time, I think that is love!! So sure, 2, 5, 10 years from now you will age and change, but if you are still happy then you are still in love!!

depends on if your talking 13 then probably not. Probably just talking puppy love

If you mean 17 or 18 or 19 then it is posssibility of one and only forever. Not a big chance but there is a chance.
