Im the same person who asked this same question a few months ago. Well, i talked to her and nothing bad happened but heres the problem: that was a month ago & i havent talked to her since. Its pretty much the same as it was before although now it even more pitiful. I finally talked and she just smiled & didnt really say too much. But now every time i see her i can't get words to come out. I managed to say hey a few times but not much else. And i havent even said hey for awhile. Why am i so stupid that i cant just talk to her again?

Just go embarrass yourself a few times and realize its not that big a deal. Every guy has to get used to rejection or embarrassment before he can comfortably talk to women about their feelings.
You never know, your embarrassment might actually come across as cute and then your just that much closer to talking about dating with her.

start slowly, like you're doing. saying hey, smiling, and then making small talk about the weather, sports, events, whatever. it might help to talk to various other girls you know to see what it's good to talk about with them and then use those ideas to talk with this girl.

try getting into a really good/loose mood by doing something really fun first or whatever works for you, then try talking to her, that worked for me once.
