That point is used more to indicate that those women who in the immediate future are "trying to get pregnant" should not use the particular medication. The reason is that certain medications can cause birth defects or problems with the pregnancy it's not so much about all the women who could get pregnant.

Although most can get pregnant, not all are planning on being that way! So the drug would be safe for those who don't plan on being pregnant anytime soon. What bothers me more are the commercials that advertise drugs and say that one of the side affects could be death!!! Who's willing to play that game?? If it can cause death, then why is it on the market???

You should really listen to some of the side effects of them. It's mind boggling as to why a Dotor would prescribe or a patient would even consider taking a drug that, as a side effect, may cause headache, diarhea, sore throat or viral infections. Yet those are some of the more common side effects you hear if you listen closely to the drug ads.

I think that's referring to women currently pregnant or planning pregnancy during the time they are on the drugs.

It's a C.Y.A. world. The not making any sense part though should be that these ads are on TV or in print in the first place.

it makes NO sense what so ever. i guess they have to say that so a pregnant person can't come back later and say you didnt tell me "not to be taken if pregnant or may become pregnant"...so it's just to cover their own butt :)
