Just for a new driver to get acclimated to driving when shes not out practicing in a real automobile.

I'll have to agree with Misha on this one.

Let's face it, simulator games are pretty detailed and have been shown to help do things like improve reaction time. I personally spent a lot of time of Mircosofts Flight Simulator, but I gotta tell you, when those wheels left the ground during my first pilots lesson... simulators are fine, but they ain't nothing like the real thing baby! (Car, plane, or anything else for that matter!)

Good question though. There are some professional driving simulators out there. Maybe at a university near you?

No simulator can match real life experience. Don't bother.
