I have a 2 yr old German Shepherd, and if I had the room, I'd adopt 2 more. I love these dogs so much! I've never seen a dog with more heart than my Brian. Never. He's brave and courageous and watches after my kids like they were his own. There never was a better dog!

I love all dogs, without exception. Every breed has it's own unique character and temperament and, of course, purpose.
I have owned a European Boxer and loved him dearly, he lived to be about 16.
I then owned a Lhasa Apso and he was a lovely companion through college but died young.
Then a Shepherd/Wolf mix, and he was the smartest and most protective dog I have ever encountered. He lived to be about 12 but had terrible hip problems the last year of his life.
Then a Great Dane. Sweetest animal on the planet. Also the stupidest, although I am sure I will get heat for saying that. He did mature around 4 years old though and, since he was the only pup in the litter he was huge, grew to be about 4 feet tall standing on all fours and weight about 80 pounds. I gave him to a friend who bred Danes, and lived on a ranch, as he was born to be a stud.
Now I own two Bichons, clever, empathetic creatures who speak English, Spanish and are learning French. These are my favorite dogs. They are like little people in every way.
I cannot imagine anything I wouldn't do for these Bichons, or any amount of money I wouldn't spend to make them well, keep them out of pain, free from harm or just to make them happy. My vote is for Bichons.
Good luck with your poll.

I prefer pitbulls. People get the wrong impression on this peticular breed. But from experiance that is not the case. They can be the most loving dog its all on how you train them. I have about 4 or 5 where i live i breed them and sell or give as a gift to family and friends or just someone who wants a pit.

Tibetan Terrier..
Want to get a Lab (golden), and a Rottweiler in the future.
Not sure how the Tibetan and Rotty would mix, might have to hold off on that one.

Right now, I own Maggie, a mostly Beagle. She's a sweetie, but the best dog I ever had was the dog we had when I was in high school. Ludwig was a Great Dane/German Shepard. He was he size of a small pony, dumb as a box of rocks, but gentle as a lamb.

I own a 10 year old black Lab. He's a sweetheart, very affectionate and playful with the family, but very wary of strangers and a great guard dog (not a typical Lab trait, I know). Doesn't eat much, although he sheds like crazy, and he'd do anything to make us happy!

Mutts I guess... I have 3 dogs.. Shepherd/husky/?? mix. Lab/springer Spaniel mix and my new pup is Rottie/Siberian Husky. For a specific breed I have always wanted a Malamute or any type of Husky.. but I settled for half and half..lol I really admire Irish Wolfhounds too but so many breed problems short lifespan etc I prefer mutts only because they are so much more healthy with the hybrid vigor and all and usually long lifespans.

I own an American Stoffordshire Pit-bull Terrier, her name is Whiskey, and she is the coolest dog that I have ever owned, and that's a lot of dogs.
I want a Doberman Pinscher next, but that will be a year from now, do to financial issues.
I like these dogs because they are beautiful, protective and sweet (all in one) and very intelligent mammals.
