There is an aspect that you have not considered.

The question of the existence of God is not a question of value ("Am I glad/angry that there would be a God?"), or of logic ("How could there be God if there is suffering or injustice in the world?")

It is a question of fact. ("Is there or is there not a God?")

As such, logic and rhetoric have no value in the discussion.

I would like to offer some thoughts:

There are no inmates in any prison who were convicted on primary evidence - that is, the eyewitness was allowed to decide whether the defendant was convicted. Having firsthand knowledge excludes one from the decision-making process. Only seconary evidence is allowed, in other words, the judge and jury must listen to others' testimony and decide the fate of the accused.

I submit that there are massive amounts of secondary evidence sufficient to prove the existence of God, including millions of persons, including former atheists, who have had near-death experiences and met Him for themselves.

To criticize others for believing in God because of this and other amazing evidence is, in my mind, the same as persecuting Cornelius for daring to prove that the earth rotated around the sun.

No, it isn't logic--but neither is your statement/question.

There is no empirical way to demonstrate that God exists--or that he does not exist. That does not make the question "illogical"--it simply means that its not a question that can be answered by science.

And there are many important questions people ask (e.g. is a given act "good" or "bad") that cannot be answered empirically. That does not mean the questions are irrational--they are not. Nor that you can't use logic to explore those questions. In fact--that is where you need logic most--precisely because you can't fall back on experiment and testing.

In these days evidence is all around you, you need only pick up the bible for the prophecy of the last days. Look up the prophecy for these days, you will see a scary resemblance to our current world. Many of the things that are in the bible about it say it will all happen in 1 generations time, and it is right before your eyes, you need only see it and believe. Not ALL the things are finished, but you can see the stage being set for them through technology advancement.

Israel became a nation AGAIN in 1948.

They have relearned to speak their own language and read it.

Men would travel to and fro at great distance and knowledge would be increased. (lots of stuff in this section!)

The natural love of many would grow cold.

Many of the church would become apostate and fall away.

Nations would call for the destruction of Israel so that it not be remembered. (in other words, kill every last one of them!)

These are just a few, there are many more you will find as you dig through it all. At no other time in history has the technoligy been available to enforce the "mark of the beast" until today. At no other time has man been able to destroy all life on the planet, until this generation. Surely I say to you, this is the end times, and all the signs you need are in front of you.

So lets view the creation of the universe, what is more probable...a Big Bang that ended up creating living intricate things and the exact atmophere needed to exist cuz if the atmospere was just a little different, we would all die (so it is all a coincidence..a lucky happening..I dont think so) or a Higher Being (God) that knows all things and cretaed us and the earth perfect for survival. Plus, there r places that exist today that r described in the Bible that people have found

I hope this answers ur question

Ohh...Is there ny empirical evidence of evolution or the big Bang???

Ask God, only he knows and he WILL tell you all the answers. When he does, which he will, you will never call yourself atheist again. That's what happened to me. Go to the holy land you will find empirical evidence coming out of your nose. Having said that, the bible and faith is not an empirically based science , it is faith based. As I said go have a chat to God, he will reveal all the answers to you in time. As he did to me.

People have a sad misunderstanding of logic, on both sides. Logic is about drawing conclusions based on assumptions and rules. Logic allows you to assume the Bible is true. Common sense doesn't, and science doesn't, and a firm grip on reality doesn't, but logic does.

HEy, SHAFT - what we are afraid of is the dumbing down of our country and the restrictions of our rights, as tends to happen when religious nuts assert their numbers on the political process. I fear no man or idea.

i actually like your watermark analogy, i might prefer to extrapolate on that. First, you're suitable, there is in basic terms faith as yet for data. yet, as all of us comprehend, there is an horrific lot of it. image it overlaying the earth, like a community, or a internet of concept. Now carry it as much as the sunshine, you will see the watermark. i relatively have faith this to be the incontrovertible data of God's power. I see, although, that I easily have not presented what you have asked. that's not empirical data that "one particular entity" has "made the universe, or created existence". that's certainly not some thing that "won't be able to be defined via another phenomenon". I surely renowned that this might not be '"seen as a rational and agreeable rationalization via maximum human beings of smart human beings" LOL! So, I consider you...there isn't empirical data...yet! thank you loose thinking American!

Yes, it's logic. Rhetoric deals with arguments, to which you'd apply the principles of logical reasoning.

First, we'd have to define what God is, prior to being able to ascertain whether or not such a being ever existed. If we conclude that God is a being that can transcend space and time as we currently understand it, then how do we confirm the existence on such a scale? I dare say that we aren't advanced enough in technology to make such an endeavor.
