Listening. Patience. Being straightforward and honest. Don't lie. Under promise but over deliver. Be tenacious, like a dog with a bone. Always ask for the sale no matter what the customer tells you. If they say no, ask why, then try to overcome the objection. Customers use objections like body armour. They all lie through their teeth because they are afraid. You can never let that get to you. Show supreme confidence. And always remember, they are in your house, and nobody pushes you around in your own house.
Now get out there!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm a boat salesman and we have quite a few different ways to close. The best way to close a deal is do everything the customer wants you to and still put a profitable deal together for yourself. My experience shows that if a customer likes you he will spend more money with you because he trusts you. I will never lie when trying to sell because sooner or later it will come back to you and you will end up losing more deals than one if you make something out to be different than the truth.

By selling themselves. If you build trust with the customer, then you can close the deal. Product knowledge is not necessary. You have to be honest and trustworthy to be a top salesman. The liars never succeed. They bounce from dealer to dealer complaining because they aren't making any money. It doesn't require hard work. Just be honest and be yourself.
