we've always had dogs in pairs; females get along as well as the mixed sex pairs if they are good dogs in the first place.
We've never had a problem.

It depends on the dogs really. I have two sisters that were raised together, one is an alpha-female, she doesn't get along with females, just males. She used to whip her sister all the time, daily when they were pups, and I thought she'd grow out of it, boy was I wrong. I had to separate the two when they ware about two years old, because I saw my alpha-female actually draw blood from her sister.
About 3 years ago, the alpha-female got a hold of one of her eight weeks old nieces, and tried to kill her. When I heard the puppy screaming bloody murder I looked up and saw her "aunt" biting the puppy and holding it to the ground by it's neck. The pups mom was biting and attacking her sister trying to get her pup back. Needless to say I had only a few seconds to get to the pup. I jumped the fence, the pup was in her mouth and she ran from me with it, so I jumped her, and grabbed the puppy, she wouldn't let go, and I didn't want to but I had to hit her several times with my hand until she let go of the pup. The puppy went into shock for about half an hour. It's eyes rolled back, locked open and she wouldn't even blink, her body was stiff as a board and she just yelled and yelled.
The point of this story is...... The puppies are now grown, and I tried to put them back together with the aunt a couple of months ago but THEY attacked her, and by her being a alpha-female, she was fighting back and I knew they were going to kill her. At that point, I had to save her from them.
The leader of the attack was the puppy she tried to kill AND her full blood sister! So dogs do have good memories and now the 2 sisters don't get along at ALL!.
This is the first alpha-female I've dealt with personally. But now I keep watch for an animal that constantly becomes aggressive to others on a regular daily basis especially when they're little.
My suggestion is watch them both carefully for a few months. Every time one cries, SEE who's being the aggressor, or if it's just "spats" all mine will all have a dispute once in a while. But I think it would be best to find out if one is going to be a LOT more dominate to the point of actually hurting the other one like mine did.
Believe it or not though, my alpha-female LOVES people we get along great, and she's never been aggressive to a person, just other female dogs.

i was raised up breeding, raiseing, and hunting dogs for the past 27 years. we never had less than 45 dogs that i can remember you have to keep an eye on them if one gets snotty with the other punish the dog if the other does do the same you have to stay ontop of this for a while it also depend on hte age of the dogs they will asert the peckin order them selves you just cant let it get out of control. preferbley i would rather keep 2 males as opposed to 2 females .

Yes, they will be fine together. It is only when you have two males together when it seems to become a problem. It's because they have issues with space. They should get along as long as there isn't any past abuse of the dogs or stuff like that.

Yes I had 2 girl dogs the oldest was a cross breed and the other one is a bolder collie they did have the odd fight but got on the rest of the time. The crossbreed dog was the boss and the collie was happy not to challange the other dog for her position.

It really depends on the dogs. Two bitches will fight and hate each other just as much as two males with. If one or both have a dominate personality. I know my trainer and two other friends that keep their females 100% totally out of site of each other because it would be a fight to the death if they didn't.

So really there is not telling get them spay and they will probbably get on better then if you don't

It depends on the dog. My parent's dog was about 3 when we got my dog. They didn't like each other at first, but they were inseperable later on. I know another female dog that hates all dogs, girl or boy. All you can do is introduce them and give it time.

Yes if raised correctily, although alot of littermates esp 2 bitches together can fight as they grow older,it's worse when 1 or both come into season. It's always best to go for the oposite sex when buying a dog, only if you have one or both neutered though.

It depends on the dog, but it's usually the males who have more trouble living with other animals because there's a fight for dominance.

I imagine so. We are 3 bachelors, with 3 male dogs and 3 male birds. That's a lot of testosterone under one roof and we all get along famously.

Of course they will. I have two females right now and they are inseperable. I have a beagle and a pug. They do everything together.... eat, sleep, play, they will even share the same bone which is very unlike dogs.
