The Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) is a multiple choice test used to determine qualification for enlistment (jobs) in the United States armed forces. It is administered to American high school students when they are in the 11th grade.

They are your entrance tests for military and show what innate skills you have. They also give an excellent indicators of your level of practical education, common sense, and clerical skills. They qualify you for certain Military Occupation Skills.
The higher the scores the broader your choice of jobs are.

ASVAB score requirements differ from service to service. for example a Coast Guard recruit must score as high to get in CG as an army recruit who has an BA or BS and wants to go to OCS.

the actual score of the ASVAB is what percentile you did, as opposed to percent. the score means that out of 100 people, you did better than (asvab score) of them.
