How would God do it?

What authority would the person God chose to do it have to have?

Is there anyone on earth who has been given this authority by ordination and laying on of Hands by those in proper authority? If so...How were they given it?

In Amos 3:7 it says, "Surely, the Lord God will do nothing save he will reveal unto his servants, the prophets."

In Malachi 3:6 it reads, "For I am the Lord, I change not..."

Why would He stop giving revelation to prophets just because the Bible was compiled?

He speaks to a living prophet today. The President of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is a prophet with authority and revelation given from God to speak to the world.

I think you've found the secret-- Amos 3:7 is the key. "Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets."

God has said that He is the same, "yesterday, today and forever." Sure, Jesus' presence 2000 yrs ago made a prophet unnecesary, but Jesus hasn't been around for a while. Do you really think we need God's guidance any less than the people of the Old Testament?? I'd say we need His continuing direction even more! God spoke to mankind via prophets in Old Testament times, then why not now?

I think that the position of prophet would be filled by a man God called Himself, not some self-proclaimed egotist. I also think that God would put in place a way for others (the rest of us) to verify that this man were in actuality called by God to deliver His word to the world.

Sorry, Catholics. No offense meant, but I think the authority to act in God's name was lost long ago, so that authority would have to be restored somehow... "With God, nothing is impossible...", so maybe if authority-holders of New Testament times returned and gave that same authority to a modern man... John the Baptist?.... Peter, James and John? I think they would be key in the restoring of God's authority and power (which would include continued revelation, the various gifts of the Spirit....).

Thank you!!!!! Awesome last question!!!

I think there are men on the earth today who are given the authority to speak to and from God. They are chosen, and set apart by the power of the Authority of God and by laying on of hands, as in Christs day. These men are called to lead in this time and for us.

I'm LDS, most people call us Mormons. I hate that word!! But anyway, enough of that. We believe that God has called a new prophets to lead and guide us today, just like in Christs time and before Christ. The head is the Prophet, next in his presidency (1st counselor, second counselor), after them are the 12 apostles. The 1st and 2nd counselors are both apostles added in this 12.

After them are the quorums of the Seventies. There are 7 Quorums of seventy. That's a lot of men, but each have a specific role to play. Each is placed over a congregation and will visit during certain times of the year. They also go with the prophet when he travels and usually he will pick a new 70's to go with him for each trip.

These men are called by revelation, and by laying on of hands. In our church, we will never be without a prophet. We will always know who the next prophet will be. It's all laid out for us. Nothing is secret in the way they work, or in what they do. They hold all the keys of the priesthood and are able to use all the keys if needed.

Christ is the head of the church, with the prophet under Him. The prophet does nothing with the church unless he gets revelation for it. Each person is able to receive revelation. You don't have LDS, or any other religion to know what God wants of you. Just praying will help you to know what God wants of you.

Not all men of God are LDS either. We think that there are many people today who are men and women of God, called by God to spread their faiths. We do believe that there are churches that don't hold all the keys that are needed, but no one faith is wrong, or untrue because of this. Having a personal relationship with the Savior and God are what matter to each of us.

If God is unchangeable, the same yesterday, today and forever, I would think that would include his ability to speak to whomever he chose to speak to. Who am I to say what God can and cannot do? Who am I to say God doesn't speak to prophets today? Do I know more than God or can dictate to him what he should or should not be doing? Of course not. God can do what he wants to and when he wants to.

So it makes perfect sense to me that he speaks to people in this day and age, if that is what HE wants to do. So, if I hear of some faith group that is making such a claim, it would behoove me to check out the claim and learn what I can about it before dismissing it without little or no effort to learn the truth on my part.

That's the scientific method, to "experiment" about God's word. Try it out and if it makes sense, it quite possible could be reality.

Amos 3:7 makes sense in this regard.

He would do it through his apostles or prophets. Someone who carrys the Holy Melchezidic priesthood who is worthy.

There are two churchs that do the laying on of hands. One being the Catholic and the other the Mormon or LDS church.

I was a catholic but now LDS because I never felt the same influence of the holy ghost as I had in the Catholic church.

I dont think God would reveal more because it the Bible ended with His coming back to earth to bring His followers to Heaven so what more would He add...plus God is omnipitient (I think that is how u spell it) so He knows past, present, and future so if He added more to the Bible, it would be like He made a mistake and forgot to tell us something and since God is perfect and knows everything, He wouldnt do that.

God does not exist. Your books were written by men, in some cases, insane men. (see Smith, Joseph.)
