Because they are young and they aren't really sure they are going to vomit until it is too late. Geeeez, give them a break. Cleaning puke out of the carpet is just part of being a parent.

Mine are 8 and 11 and now will tell me mom I feel like I am going to puke and then usually before I can answer them they are already running for a trash can or toilet. They both have reflux disease and we are used to vomiting Keep a trash can with a liner in every room and a bucket and paper towels in the car so your kids always have a place to go no what where they are and save your self a lot of messes

Children also don't always understand their body's signals about things. Potty training is about teaching them to recognize their body's need to go to the bathroom, and teaching them the right place and time to do that.

But vomiting is a much more involuntary action, it's not something that most adults can control. So it's pretty much not going to be something a child can understand and react to in a way that would give you "warning".

Depends on the age. When they are younger they usually don't because they are just leaning their body and how to communicate. They know they don't feel well, but the feeling that they are going to vomit and actually vomiting don't really correlate in the brain yet. As they get old they learn that when they feel a certain way, they my vomit.

It sure would be. I went through this with all mine. There are some signs you can tell they are going to do it, they get restless, dance around crying and playing with their mouth. I finally after this flu season have my 2 yr old saying,"Pook!" before vomiting. But, I had to tell her everytime she did it without saying something, "tell momma, so we can get you to the potty. we don't want you doing it on the floor.' and scrunched up my nose so if she didn't understand what I was saying atleast she could read my face.

As a child I use to be able to give atleast 30 seconds warning. Rarely did I ever puke before I had an appropreate place to go. Some kids just don't feel it coming.

Our kids are more or less great with knowing hwne it's coming. They do have their times but everybody does. We usually keep a bucket near them so they can grab it at a moments notice. Their just kids. It happens

Sometimes they cannot help it. They can't make it to the bathroom or whereever they are to throw up.
I know i have said before "I'm going to puke" and not make it to the bathroom.

Kids don't do that for the heck of it, they just can't make it in time.
