The pig is a dirty animal and we're commanded to stay away from it. If eaten by mistake, no harm. If eaten to be disobedient, shame on you. If eaten to save life (prevent dying from hunger), no harm. Allah (SWT) knows best.

cause it was an old myth that pork was unclean cause back in the day a few people ate it and died cause of improper handling conditions and they were like god said dont eat that and before they say it eats its feces so do chickens i seen it i knew a man who raised chickens and the wallowing in mud is because it has no sweat galnds and it does that to help cool off and another intresting fact pig blood can be substituted for human blood in a transfusion and the asians eat more pork than anyone and they are the healthiest people on the planet

The same reasons Jews don't and the Old Testament told Christians not to... they are considered to be dirty animals.
I am studying Islam and giving up pork isn't such a problem for me. It makes me sick, always has.

It is considered an unclean animal. This is one of the things that Mohammed borrowed, or stole from Christians and Jewish people when he made up his religion. They don't chew cud like other certain animals like cattle, deer, etc...

Muslims are not allowed to eat pork because we are commanded by god not to eat it. it is forbidden, because it's unhealthy.
The bible and torah forbid it.

bacon is awsome. and porkchops. heck -porkrinds sausage everything. I love pigs. But I am not muslim. I don't think pigs are dirty animals. rats are dirty.
