Evil is due to when we abuse our free will, hence the Fall in Genesis. We were created as good, but by being given free will we had the potential to turn away from good. So God created beings with the potential to commit either good or evil, and it is us who then determine which is brought about. Evil isnt a substance that can be created, it is just what we call our actions when they are disobediant to God. As for a universe without evil, although it would be possible for us to be good without any evil occuring, if we did not have the ability to choose it would be impairing our free will, so its up to you how much value you place on that.

1) Evil is purely the lack of Good. Both "Good" and "Evil" are the extremes of a paradox. The balance being indifference.
But, to answer your question, there will always be "Evil" when there is a choice to choose away from "Good."
2) Both Good and Evil are choices. One is the choice to do Good, while the other is the choice to do No Good.
3) God created the possibility for one to choose away from Good. Thus, in that sense, yes, God created "Evil"

Good and evil is a dualistic perception created in the human mind, not by any God. Good is simply that which you personally like, and evil is that which you fear. It is relative and arbitrary rather than absolute.
As with all dualities, good and evil arise together in the mind, one defined by the other. Dualities cannot become unbalanced in the long term. That is, you cannot have just good, without evil, since evil is the basis on which you discern good. If you were to obliterate evil, as the experience of this evil fades, so does your perception of good, until the time comes when you discern neither.
This is, in fact, a desirable state of affairs, since there is much beyond the perception of good and evil, and the struggle that results.

1. Yes, otherwise we would simply be neutral. We can not know what good is unless we understand what evil is. Just like we can not know what light is if we don't experience darkness.
2. A lot of it, but not all of it.
3. Yes God created evil. Just study the Theology of Creation. It is quite clear. Also Isaiah 45:7.

1. If there was no evil then there would be no good. How could we define good if there was no evil to base it on. There has to be balance.
2. No evil is not because of free will but we do participate in evil.
3. If god did create humans then yes he created everything, even the devil himself.

Do you think that the people who rape children, burglarize your homes, kill your whole family is necessary as a means to good? People have a choice choose evil or good. The scripture says: Choose ye this day whom ye shall serve, will it be God or will it be baal. Also, the scripture says: It is appointed unto man once to die but after that the judgement. The Lord use parables in the bible to bring about a moral truth so that man can think about the decisions they will make.

yes how do you know when you are happy if you have never been sad.
good cannot exist without evil, its the whole yin and yang thing.
the choice to choose between the two is what make us who we are.
the world would be boring if there were no evil, cause then there would be no choice. Plus who decides what is good vs what is bad. hense religion where everyone thinks they are the right/good ones. each side thinks they are fighting evil. so in the process of them being good they have become evil. ponder that one

from the Philosopher St Augustine
Gis is good, and whatever is created by HIM is good; but there is evil in the world----natural disasters, defomaties, crime, sin etc...How, in a world created y the good God, can there be evil?
Once we understand that Got is the only perfect being, and not lacking in in any good, it follows that any being less then God is not fully perfect and in some respect is lacking in good; imperfection is rooted in its very being, Imperfection, in the form of privation, defectiveness, or lack, is called evil and can be found only in that which is .... only, therefore, in what is the absence of good; therefore you cannot speak of God as the author of evil, any more then you can speak of an artist, having painted his floweres yellow, as cause of their not being red.
a wicked will is the cause of all evils

Evil does not exist.
Humans call what they feel is wrong or what their religion feels is wrong as evil. It's an excuse to tell kids why someone did something wrong. That's easier to explain instead of saying it's because we are animals with free will and a means for survival and entertainment.
