I have to come up with a quick "Christmas Gift" A friend I haven't seen in a while is coming for a visit and said she still has my X-mas gift.I didn't expect this I don't want her to come and I am empty handed. Any ideas for something quick and cheap! Is there something I can but now to look like I gotit at X-mas time?

My Ideas:
Candle or spa set. They are sold like crazy at xmas time and you can still find them at walmart or bath and body works.
Home decor items. Walmart has tons of this stuff and it looks more expensive than it is.

Personally, it sounds like there was no reason for you to buy her a present (you haven't seen her in a while, and it doesn't sound like you had any plans to exchange gifts). Without knowing more about your relationship (and about her) I would have a hard time suggesting a gift, but I don't think you need to act like you had a present for her at Christmas. If you absolutely feel you want to get her something, think about your past with her and use it as an idea.
~If you went to school together, buy her a school shirt- if you guys went to a great movie together, buy her a DVD.
~Give her something based on something she likes (I love wolves, and one of my favorite gifts was a wolf mug that I still have to this day)
~Does she drink? Give her a nice bottle of wine or spirits.
~Does she cook? Give her a nice cookbook or gift certificate for Williams-Sonoma (you could wrap it up with a nice apron, spices, etc.)
Bottom line, don't stress yourself out. Remember that any gift can be given at Christmas, and quite frankly I think if you choose (emphasize CHOOSE) to give her a gift you don't need to emphasize when it was bought. If you give her a gift, put it in a nice gift bag with tissue, or wrap it.

Oh you sound a bit desperate! There is no reason your friend has to believe you have had a gift for her all along. Buy her some nice flowers, be happy to see her, be genuine and smile a lot. You'll be fine.l

Go to your local department store and sometimes you can ask for their manager and ask him if they have any gifts left over from Christmas because sometimes retail stores store their merchandise from Christmas until next year. A sweater is always a good gift and it will seem like you purchased it during Christmas.

Don't lie....just take your friend out for a nice dinner & enjoy yourselves! A true friend won't care about the gift!

You don't have to get your friend a gift, just because she's got one for you.
I mean, I never give anything away expecting to get something in return!! (Well, that excludes sex)
