That drives me insane. Everyone I know are normal, fun, funny, happy people of all different ages, nationalitys, ect. They werent in any sort of rut in there life when they received God. In fact, most were in the high of their lives when they got saved. Had more then most. But gave it to Jesus, because they knew he was real!

I don't think Father K is "irrational, illogical and mentally retarded". But he's Catholic not Christian according to some. It is entirely possible to be a believer and be rational etc.
The theology put forward by most people who self-describe as Christian makes little sense and is not interested in reason.

I only believe them to be irrational, illogical in their religious beliefs.

In other areas I'm sure there are reasonable thinkers, just like any other group, including Atheists. I know that for a fact, I know many reasonable believers.

They admit you need faith to believe what they believe and they also admit faith itself is irrational

I have never called them mentally retarded, irrational or illogical (though many obviously are). Just deluded, misguided and wrong.

Let's see... being deluded is irrational. Check.

Believing in an omniscient, omnipotent AND benevolent god all at once is illogical. Check.

You're not mentally retarded though. Just ignorant.

Very few people have that attitude. The majority of Christians are as logical, etc. as anyone else.

Now, if you are talking about the right-wing cults (e.g. Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, etc. and their followers) that's another matter. But they aren't followers of Christ--at least they don't follow what Christ taught.

Ahem... *ping ping* (knocking on the screen)... when did I ever say that?

I do make mention of the fact that your views and perceptions of logic vastly differ from mine, but short of trying to be light and humorous most of the time, I do try to be respectful.

If anyone assumes that about anyone else, it's prejudiced.

For you to assume that atheists as a whole think that about Christians as a whole is equally prejudiced.

Well first off they believe in a book that claims the universe is at the very most 13,000 years old when taken literally.
