My kids go through stages where they will refuse to eat their favorite foods, they become bored with it basically. I wouldn't worry about it. Just try some new foods on her, and after a while you can try one of her old favorites, and I guarantee she'll go back to it. They definitely become more opinionated about food in general the older they get I find.

My first son was the same. He used to eat everything when he was a toddler, then when he turned five he stopped eating most things and only ate certain things. now he is approaching ten and only just starting to get a taste back for all the things he used to eat. I'd say all children go through funny stages and i don't think its much to worry about unless she is losing a lot of weight. keep an eye on her but i'm sure it will pass.

My daughter is the same way she is turning 7 in may she weights about 55 pounds being tall. You need to be firm but not forceful let her decide in a smart way... Example if she won't eat her supper tell her that's ok, she doesn't have to eat her supper BUT she loses something that she likes to do after supper (TV etc..) and no snack if she wants a bedtime snack guess what it is? Her supper! Try it works for me.... But don't let her go out of your view until her mouth is empty, my daughter slipped upstairs and spit her chicken in the bathroom garbage glad i caught her right after she did it! Good luck! If your doctor says she is under weight try putting her on Homogenized Milk That will help.

yes, my kids go through picky "phases". My daughter just turned 5 on feb. 5th and my son is 6.
Worst part is that they go through the phases at different times so its hard to find something that the whole famil will eat. I don't want to be like my mother and make what they want, but I don't want to make them eat something they totally hate.
It also helps them to be less picky when they help me get the groceries, plan the meals and prepare them. THey love to help me make lasagna. At first they complained about it, (they don't like foods that are mixed together), but once I started letting them help make it, they started liking it.
Good luck

One of the many wonderful phases children go through! No worries, she will eat when she is hungry. Growth spurts will also add to this and over the next few years her appetite may go from one extreme to another. When she is just picking at food, make sure its nutritious foods and not junk.

One way I found I got my children to eat more is if they were involved in the meal making process. Make it fun and simple (like make your own pizzas, make a loaf of bread together, tacos, etc.) and they were more likely to eat.

I think it's pretty common. My six year old won't eat things she used to like. A very picky eater, she only weighs 44 lbs. I try to offer healthy things like raw carrots with ranch dressing, or broccoli with cheese to tempt her.
Boy she sure can eat sweets though!

Yes, it's normal, but decide what you are going to do about it. My parents didn't give me an option. I ate what they put in front of me, or I didn't leave the table. Now I'll eat anything, because they never allowed me to be that way.

Sure it is normal. I think all kids go through a phase where they just totally hate the food that they used to love. Let her try new things, maybe she is exploring her options.
