Hi Sarah,
It helps build your faith.
MAT 5V
11Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

I haven't called you a moron, unintelligent, nor attacked your beliefs.
I have told you an atheist's point of view on the topics you have asked.
Curiosity isn't a bad but a good thing.
For those who do, I can relate, we are often insulted by Christians who have no clue how we really are, in the real world. here on R & S section is where they (though I've done it myself) can vent out their frustrations. If we were to do so in public we risk physical injury, literally.
I laugh when I hear Christians say that the road to Christianity is narrow and hard, it isn't. Christians are by far the majority. The route of atheism is more difficult, we are looked down upon in a lot of society, and what for? Because we don't believe like everyone else.

~~~ Sarah ,,, Sorry but I don't remember ever coming across a Q of yours but perhaps I can help. I'm a friendly, non-"attacking" atheist with an explanation. First Q,,,You "feel attacked" because of some sensitivity, ie: Insecurity, about your Belief System when directly affronted by an Alternative Viewpoint. 2nd Q,,,ANY of those on this site who indeed call others names and demean others' beliefs are also Insecure and feel the need to take Offense so they may feel Superior. Remember, you are on an Open Forum here,,, Jerks are everywhere in The World and it is only YOU who give them the Power to upset You. Life is too short to take so Personally,,,( pun intended),,,
I went back and looked at some of your questions, and the answers you received. I didn't anything that really looked like an attack, they answers were simply someone telling you WHY they didn't believe in god, which is what you asked.
And maybe if you feel you are being attacked you should really look at some of the questions you are asking.
"Why do those who insist on NOT believing in God...
say things like... " that is actually a pretty rude question.
and then you always have this question
If you insist on NOT believing in God...
(yes...if you don't believe...then you DO insist)
and believe in The Theory of Evolution...
(and this is where humans evolved from monkeys)
Why are there still monkeys on earth?
We know what evolution is honey, and no evolution is NOT that we evolved from monkeys..but of course being from higher education you knew that.
You ask these questions are you are very rude and condescending. You act as if you are better than non believers and that we don't know anything and you have to talk to us like we are a child.
Do not expect polite answers if you can't ask a polite question.
And BTW most of your more obnoxious, rude answers seem to be coming from your fellow Christians, but of course you don't find them rude because they're not talking about you and they agree with you.
atheists, like ALL belief systems, have there share of radicals. Most of these radicals are angry, childish ex-christians that don't know what they believe. The majority of the atheist community are just like you and me, with the exception that when they die, they just stop. Therefore they don't feel qualified to answer a question that can have (in their mind) no logical answer. That is why the "normal" atheists don't respond. They feel your question is probably some christian self affirming circle logic trap. As for attacking your beliefs, They think you are misguided by believing in a Divine Being.
Sarah, those that answer you in a disrespectful way are devoid of proper etiquette and simply use these forums to vent their anger at themselves by blaming others for their lack of sensitivity. I pity them, for they also cannot accept that there may be a power larger than they with a plan for them that they will not see coming!
Atheists are people with a strong affliction of their sight, and other senses because they obviously have not become aware of the natural world around them. They cannot see the proof of someone running things,...like even their own hearts! At birth, they took over control of their total lives, and learned all that they know within seconds, and thought that was IT!
Pity them, for they will continue to return here, life after life until they get it right!
They will not change God not reincarnation one bit!
I know you were asking this to nonbelievers, however, I feel that I know the answer. I have known several nonbelievers and agnostics in my life. Most of them become very defensive because religion scares them. They know as Christians we are secure of ourselves, aware of many things, and we have something to strive for. It is a little childish behavior, but you would be amazed at all of the people that never really grow up.
That works two ways sister. As a Christian, I have seen on Y, 'Christians' put down atheists too.
We can only try to overcome things with good!!!
It is a genetic trait of atheists - when we are not ripping wings off flies we like to attack christians.
Joking of course !
Was this one of the innocent questions you were asking about God?
You're making religious statements that are intended to antagonize. Granted, they are disguised as questions and slightly sugar-coated, but they are statements none the less.
