Following a bout of pain and vomiting six months ago an ultrasound scan found a 1.8cm polyp and fatty liver. I have some low grade left sided pain and bouts of slight nausia. I have been on a low fat diet for six months and have lost 2stone but am still overweight. I do fee extremely tired a lot of the time and sometimes get extreme indigestion. I have suffered for some time from acid reflux causing difficulty swallowing. One consultant tells me that 1.8cm is very small and wanted to discharge me the other wants to remove the gallbladder as he says that 1.8cm is very large. I have been given no dietry advise both consultants inform me that this polyps is definately not a stone. Any advise should I have surgury what kind of things can I do to help myself. It worries me that this scan was done six months ago and the polyp may now be bigger and possibley cancerous.

If a polyp is less than 1cm then usually if not causing any problems it is just scanned every six months. If it is larger than 1cm then it is considered large and the gall bladder will have to be removed. All the symptoms you describe are attributed to gall bladder and not the liver. Please try not to worry and ensure that you get the information you require from the medical team before you make any decisions.

Polyp's are a little growth which can be surgically removed, I hope it won't (and doubt) it'll be cancerous.

I have a fatty liver myself which as you know is diagnosed through a liver biopsy. The official name for fatty live is non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (or NASH) and can be helped by a low fat diet (with reduced portion sizes)

first of all i feel very sorry for you

i have had what you are describing and in the end i had to have my gallbladder removed

it is an extremely painful thing and often i was doubled in pain

i never had the fatty liver so im not sure about that but as far as the gallbladder goes if i was you i would go back to my gp tell them i was unhappy they should refer you for another scan and then an appointment with another consultant tell them you are still in a lot of pain and somethings not right

or you could forget all that and go straight to a and e tell them that your in so much pain you cant move, this will however land you in hospital for a few nights but that way you avoid waiting 6mths plus for a scan. and its seen to there and then

i think that would be the best option

i really hope you get on ok with this as i know first hand how sore this is!

hope this helps

Thyroid disease is one of the most common health problems we face today. From a practical standpoint, there are many ways to approach this issue. Learn here https://tr.im/QpsMI

Hypothyroidism, or underactive thyroid, is a very common problem, and there are many reasons for this, including drinking chlorinated and fluoridated water, and eating brominated flour.

Chlorine, fluoride, and bromine are all in the same family as iodine, and can displace iodine in your thyroid gland.

Secondly, many people simply aren't getting enough iodine in their diet to begin with. The amount you get from iodized salt is just barely enough to prevent you from getting a goiter.

Make pancakes even healthier by adding mashed baked sweet potato, a number of pureed spinach and blueberries, or maybe cooked quinoa.
