It's like their only goal in life too. They don't want careers. Does The Bible say to do this?

Being a single mother working at McDonald's if the husband divorces or dies isn't fun.

I consider myself to be religious.
I'm married, but I don't have kids, and don't plan on it for another 4 or 5 years.
I have a very productive career as an insurance agent.

And I love reading my Bible.

Let me introduce you to me daughters. Both strong Christians who decided to build careers first. They own their own business together (a photography studio) and finally married at the age of 29 and 27. The oldest just had her first child a month ago at 31. The youngest is expecting in July.

My son, who is 24, is getting married this weekend to a 25 year old Christian young lady. She is a vet.

So not all religious woman want to be married with kids by 21.

Ya know I've thought about this question a lot, becuase I used to be one of those girls! I'm a christian and I used to think my life would be wasted if I didn't get married and have babies, but I'm so glad I got past that.

I think most girls think that the role models they see now in christianity (at least I'm assuming thats what religion you are speaking of, I apolgize if I misunderstood), are in that classic role of a mother and a wife. But in all honesty the bible just calls us to be a light and a witness. Sometimes I think its the wordly desires that take over girls hearts.

I've heard lots of girls say they want to get married and raise christian children, and it bothers me. To me they are taking the idea of making disciples in a distorted view, and put evangelism on the back burner.

Anyway I'm sure thats probably a longer answer than you wanted, but thats my two cents.

Huh? I'm married to a very religious woman. She never wanted kids. She's a partner in a multinational CPA firm. Every woman in my parish has a career. That's right - not one stay-at-home mom. Only one comes close and she's at home a lot with her one son - because she's a working actress and has lots of down time.

The Bible does not say "Thou shalt be married by age 21."

I got married at 20. I had a baby at 28. I do NOT want a career. Why is a career so important? What's wrong with getting married and having a family?

Where do you live? You need to get out more and meet more diverse and interesting people if ALL the religious women you've met in your life are ALL the same and ALL want the same thing.
